We did a vacation with our daughter, 21, to Savannah and wanted to also experience Tybee Island but did not want a dolphin tour, we wanted something a little more personal and that is exactly what we got with Capt Harvey. A pure pleasure of a man! We spent 3 1/2 hours on a very hot day in August enjoying the island and his expertise of it. We really came out "wowed" by all of it! We definetly did not want to go on a large tour boat, especially in 100+ degree weather, this was the most perfect way to see a beautiful island thru the eyes of a man who really feels love for it! Capt Harvey even let me steer the boat for a bit, which made my husband really happy, since he now feels that maybe there is a hope that I will say yes to a boat in our future :-)
Oh and lets not forget those most amazing dolphins! out in their own environment, coming so close to the boat! coming out of the water and smiling at us, happy, OMG! It was amazing, we never saw so many dolphins so happily swimming........we even saw a baby dolphin.....Capt Harvey taught us alot about dolphins also, priceless!
My daughter, who is very hard to please, really had a very good time. We were to do some crabbing also, but due to the very dry summer they have had, he recommended us not do so. He could of easily have let us crab and he could of added hours to the trip, instead he was honest of the conditions and how much it would be fruitless, I appreciated this!
It is very simple to book a trip, there is no need to give your credit card, he takes your word for it. At the end of the trip, its a simple cash only deal, you pay for the hours you were out there and if you want something special to see or do, you can discuss with him ahead of time and he can have it all set up for you. Capt Harvey meets you at AJ Dockside, you park in the overflow lot across the street.
We will include another trip with Capt Harvey on our next trip to Tybee, actually, his love for the island is so refreshing that we may come back and stay in the island next time.
