Just got done with a four day convention at the hotel...everyone was exceptional nice and went out of their way to help make it a great experience. Rooms were nice and never had any problems or complaints.

I stayed here 1 night, and then booked 2 more through Priceline. The rooms are comfy - I had a king and it had a loveseat and a deck. The pool was closed, but they have a decent hottub. You pay for b-fast, at least with my rate, so I didn't try it, but it looked decent.

Pluses
- Near a lot of shops, grocery stores, etc;
- Fridge in room;
- Slightly above average Chinese and Magic Mushroom pizza within walking distance.
- Near freeway, but set back far enough not to be too noisy.
- The hot tub is indoors, and while the seating is made for children (I guess that's why it's so high up) it is nice and hot.

Minuses
- The doors close loudly, so if its crowded you will hear a lot of doors closing in the morning.
- The gym is small, but has an elliptical machine and a few weights.

There is plenty to eat in the area, but if you are there for a few days and want to try something different, I'd recommend Enzo's. It is a 5 min drive to the east (if no traffic) so only if you are feeling adventurous. Kind of a dive in a way, but it's open late, they serve beer, and they have out of this world calzones. Like I said, only if you are feeling adventurous.

Room Tip: its a 3 star on Priceline.

While this is an older property - the hotel is well kept and the service staff is fantastic. Rates are reasonable here and they have very economical packages for families and military personnel -- especially for those wanting to visit Stone Mountain. The package that includes breakfast is an outstanding value for a family of four and the food was quite good. To summarize, this is an older property, but don't let that put you off. This Marriott still has the wonderful beds, greet staff and service you know from other courtyards. We couldn't have been happier with our stay.

I frequently stay with Marriott hotels when traveling, because I can expect a consisent hotel experience. While the staff at this hotel is friendly, the hotel itself did not meet my expectations.

For starters, although the doors are on the inside of the hotel, there are sliding glass doors that open to the outside on all the first floor rooms. I wouldn't feel safe staying on the first floor, considering the neighboorhood in which this hotel is located.

There also seem to be some issues with the housekeeping. The first room I checked into had hair in the bathroom (gross) and small black bugs that got all into my bag and even the keyboard of my computer. I was moved into another room, but the bugs were already in my stuff.

On the positive side, I will say that the beds are comfortable and the exercise room is decent for a hotel of this size.

I stay at the Courtyard in Tucker several times a year for business meetings. It is the only Marriot property on this side of Atlanta that is convenient to the office I visit. Most of the other reviews on here are accurate. I think this was one of the very first Courtyard hotels built. It has served them well, but a renovation is sorely needed. I will give the staff credit, they are extremely friendly and make extra effort to make guests feel welcome and taken care of. Although the door to the hotel are located within the hallway, they do have exterior sliding doors which have been parmanently locked that otherwise would open to the ouside. I think that's a safety issue, considering that the neighborhood is slightly sketchy. There are plenty of more dangerous neighborhoods in Atlanta, to be sure, but I still would feel a little better if they weren't there at all. Everything considered, I still stay there because of my loyalty to Marriott and lack of other properties in the area.

As far as Courtyard's go, this one is below par. There is no elevator... a hassle if you have to lug things up to the second floor. This being said, I would recommend the second floor because it feels more secure. The neighborhood doesn't have the best reputation. The breakfast is basic Marriott, but there is usually not enough staff to cover the crowd.
