We are a family of four that was driving down to Disney World from St. Louis in 2001. We only stayed here for one night and I was crying half of it. The room smelled like a rank mixture of cigarettes and beer - not surprising since there were piles of old, rotten beer cans and cigarette butts, covered in layers of dust, behind the television. I tried to take a bath but found the water a little too brown from the rust inside the pipes. I was terrified just to brush my teeth after that.
The floor was so sticky even in our shoes and slippers we could feel our feet peeling off the carpet when we crossed the room. Speaking of the carpet, it had been cut into a dozen different pieces with open seams all over the floor. Why, I can't possibly imagine. It was from these seams that two cockroaches crawled out.
The television was old and beaten, along with everything else; its screen had obviously not been cleaned in years. Our sheets had holes in them, and although they seemed to be clean they smelled musty and had mysterious faded stains. The towels were the same.
All in all I would not wish this hotel on my worst enemy. The staff was ineffective and while not exactly rude simply ignored any request we made. After we had come home from our trip we wrote a letter to the manager and he offered us 10% off our next stay. Ha! I don't care if you give me 100% off, I'm never going back there again.
