After reading reviews on TripAdvisor and other sites, I was a bit hesitant to stay at the Country Hearth but it turned out fine. We were traveling to Atlanta for the March nascar race and usually hotel prices are jacked up for those weekends. I found a great rate on Travelocity ($44/night) and thought it was probably too good to be true. Since we would be spending most of our time at the track, we'd only be in the room to sleep so I thought we'd go ahead with the reservation. We had an early morning flight and arrived at the motel around 10:30 and we're surprised that we were able to check in. We had a little trouble understanding the desk clerk but she was very friendly offering us bottled water and granola bars upon arrival. Although not fancy by no means, we found our room to be clean. The room had two queen beds, small refrigerator and microwave, sink outside of bathroom, and small table w/two chairs. Free internet service was available and it worked great. Continental breakfast included waffles, fruit, muffins, hard boiled eggs, bagels, etc. This motel used to be a Holiday Inn and was in a decent area with several other motels and restaurants nearby. After a long day at the track, we'd walk across the street to Dairy Creme for a treat. Grocery stores and a Walmart were within a mile. They do have an outdoor pool which we didn't use and a health club across the street. We've stayed at worse places and wouldn't hesitate to return. If you're just looking for a place to sleep, you'd be fine here.

  • Liked — price and location to race track
  • Disliked — i prefer lodging with interior access. the room opened to the parking lot.

We moved to this hotel from another hotel, which was horrible, thinking the Holiday Inn Express name would mean cleanliness and quality. What a mistake! The room they gave us was too small for our family of five ( this was booked by my husband's employer) so we called the front desk and asked to be moved to a suite or adjoining rooms. We were told there was a suite next door we could move right into and pay the higher price. We moved our things over to find the tiny two-person table in our first room replaced with a love seat and coffee table. The love seat was not a convertible bed, and to top it off, it had a silver dollar sized hole in it and multiple stains all over it. There was one room, one sink and one toilet in this "suite" and my husband gallantly "slept" on the stained loveseat after we removed one of the wooly blankets from the bed and covered it with that. I awoke to see a cockroach climbing up the wall at 6:00 in the AM and I began calling other hotels before our luggage became invaded with roaches we'd take home with us. After booking my new room elsewhere, my inroom phone rang. It was the front desk informing me that the room I was in was already booked and we'd have to be out by 11:00. I said fine and checked out never to return!

  • Liked — It had running water. It was a roof over our heads for one night.
  • Disliked — Everything else.
