We stayed at the Inn for 3 days and fell in love with it. Every room is tastefully decorated with lovely antiques. The beds were so comfortable that we asked the innkeeper who made them so we can buy one for our home. There were fresh baked cookies in the entryway all the time. The Sunday brunch was excellent and I had my first Okra experience - OK I really didn't like the Okra but that's no reflection on the chef. All in all this was the best experience I've had staying anywhere and I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone. If the President stays there how bad can it be.

This B and B was not clean, there were fleas everywhere from the cats and also rodents. I was bitten by fleas when I was there and couldn't wait to leave. The staff means well, but they never compensated me or gave me a discount for being attacked by fleas from their outdoor cats.

This was a business trip for my husband and pleasure for me. I was a little worried about some of the reviews I had seen for this Inn. I will not worry again if he has to make another trip to Statesboro this is where I would prefer to stay. The room was comfortable without being to fussy you felt like you were staying with a favorite aunt. Sometimes I think most people expect things to be a certain way when visiting and staying at a B&B. My husband had not stayed in one before and he thought It was a different experience but pleasant.

The Statesboro Inn was the absolute worst b & b experience we have ever had. The place is crawling with countless cats and cat hair everywhere--in the bed, on the floor, on all the furniture, in the bathroom, etc. The room was dirty--dirty rugs, dusty, and stains everywhere coupled with the fact that the rooms and building stink.

The owners behaved and looked like they truly hated their profession--they were very rude and nasty about everything. There were no "treats" upon our arrival or any sort of tea or coffee service offered to us. When we questioned the wife what were they serving for breakfast, she replied, "whatever Tony is making........" The little service that there was, was reluctantly and rudely rendered. The environment at this place is simply full of negative and bad energy. We could not wait to check out of the place.

Upon checkout, we found that we were overcharged for our room. Tony, the owner did not honor the lower rate he quoted us on the telephone. After we booked the room on the phone, he promised he would send us a written room and rate confirmation, but he never did. When we questioned him about the rate being about $50.00 higher, he said that there was not a thing we could do about it since we did not have anything in writing from him. This seemed very unethical to us.

After we checked out of this inn, we felt like we needed a day or two at a spa or a true bed and breakfast to recuperate from this horrible experience.

“At home in Statesboro”

Statesboro Inn

We stayed at the Statesboro Inn when I interviewed for a job in Statesboro and then again for a second look and eventually to house hunt. It is truly family-owned and family-run. If you want to feel like you are staying with long-lost relatives, this is the place for you. We were offered a ride to the autoparts store when a belt broke on our car. The staff was simply being neighborly and it never occurred to anyone to charge for something like that. When we needed to bring our dog at the last minute, she was welcome too! The inn-keeper's children even walked her for us.

The rooms a decorated with antiques so the beds are small and the dresser drawers don't pull out so easliy. Rooms have ceiling fans and good lighting. We always had a desk and coffee pot as well. I would recommend a room in the original house or the house next door (not the annex). Lastly, breakfast is just ok. Sunday dinner, on the other hand, is fabulous. I would rank it right up there with the famous Lady & Sons Restaurant in Savannah.
