“At home in Statesboro”

We stayed at the Statesboro Inn when I interviewed for a job in Statesboro and then again for a second look and eventually to house hunt. It is truly family-owned and family-run. If you want to feel like you are staying with long-lost relatives, this is the place for you. We were offered a ride to the autoparts store when a belt broke on our car. The staff was simply being neighborly and it never occurred to anyone to charge for something like that. When we needed to bring our dog at the last minute, she was welcome too! The inn-keeper's children even walked her for us.

The rooms a decorated with antiques so the beds are small and the dresser drawers don't pull out so easliy. Rooms have ceiling fans and good lighting. We always had a desk and coffee pot as well. I would recommend a room in the original house or the house next door (not the annex). Lastly, breakfast is just ok. Sunday dinner, on the other hand, is fabulous. I would rank it right up there with the famous Lady & Sons Restaurant in Savannah.

Really enjoyed my stay here. The Home atmosphere really appealed to me. Things I liked best: many books around so I could read myself to sleep at night with a bright reading lamp!; so many real antiques; the real "Old South" atmosphere; the pleasant, friendly staff; the food; many public places to just sit and relax! I would highly recommend to anyone stopping in Southeast Georgia.

I attenede an event at the Statesboro Inn, the service was very bad. The staff is not equipt for large crowds. Food was cold, forgot to get our drinks and ran out of desserts. I would not book this Inn for special events. I also attended a reception there and the service was bad at that time also.

“Horrible Experience”

Statesboro Inn

I stayed at the Statesboro Inn, a few months ago. It smelled horrible as well when I stayed there. The staff and owners were very, very rude. I saw the cats on the counters as well. It makes my stomach churn just thinking of it now. We were there for relaxation, but there were two girls running around constantly being loud and yelling. It got on my nerves. The smell of the animals was unbearable. My buddy and I walked into a room where some type of gaming was being held in a conference room. Some guy came running at us, and yelled at us. He pulled us off to the side, and told us not to mention it to anyone else. I would recommend you stay else where, if you want a nice, relaxing, quality service.

I stayed at this property for a week while attending a course at Ga Southern University. My stay was nothing short of delightful. The owners were most hospitable and gave me a true B&B experience. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for both the historic feel of a B&B as well as the personal touches that a small family run property offers. I will definitely stay again!
