We stayed at the Statesboro Inn when I interviewed for a job in Statesboro and then again for a second look and eventually to house hunt. It is truly family-owned and family-run. If you want to feel like you are staying with long-lost relatives, this is the place for you. We were offered a ride to the autoparts store when a belt broke on our car. The staff was simply being neighborly and it never occurred to anyone to charge for something like that. When we needed to bring our dog at the last minute, she was welcome too! The inn-keeper's children even walked her for us.
The rooms a decorated with antiques so the beds are small and the dresser drawers don't pull out so easliy. Rooms have ceiling fans and good lighting. We always had a desk and coffee pot as well. I would recommend a room in the original house or the house next door (not the annex). Lastly, breakfast is just ok. Sunday dinner, on the other hand, is fabulous. I would rank it right up there with the famous Lady & Sons Restaurant in Savannah.
