I have stayed at The Historic Statesboro Inn & Restaurant 3 times. The first was when the former owner still was the Innkeeper. It was pleasant, but did not exceed my expectations.
My husband and I were guests in June 2008 and again in July 2008.
The new Innkeeper has repainted, recarpeted, purchased all new mattresses and daybeds, etc. I was so pleasantly surprised!! It is fresh and clean. The Innkeeper is full of new ideas and energy, so I suspect that on subsequent visits, I will continue to see changes and renovations.
The welcoming cookies(homemade) are a treat! I have had eggs one day and blueberry pancakes when blueberries were fresh for breakfast. Today, I went to the Sunday Brunch (11AM-2PM). It was fabulous--and that is from someone who doesn't usually like Buffets!
Main Course was beef tips, fried chicken, and fried catfish. There were delicious potatoes and veggies galore..and three different salads--and five homeade desserts--cheesecake, chocolate pe, pound cake, double fudge pound cake---all you can eat for $13.95!!!
So, if you are in middle Georgia, try the Historic Statesboro Inn and Restaurant. They also serve lunch Mon.-Fri-11AM-2PM.
You will not be sorry.
