I grew up going to R.J's. It's one of those family staples that Boro's like to go to. To hang out; to catch up on old times; or just relax after a long day's work. And R.J's defiantly has all these, but in recent years it's really been lacking in the service and food quality.
When you come in the mornings or mid day, your all together- mostly ignored, and you have to shuffle to your seat and wait at least ten minutes until your served, unless your in a big party or a well to do with Statesboro. Mostly the service once your served in fair and it depends on who you get. A lot of the older servers are excellent but the younger ones could care less. The food is a hit and miss, and at times its okay and others it's warmed over and barely able to be eaten.
R.J's I believe has potential to be better if ownership was watching what was going on when they weren't there. I think that the key to succeeding in this food market, R.J's needs to adopt an old tradition and serve quality cooked food with a more friendly and updated atmosphere.
