“Best Mexican in town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013

Don't be fooled by the dinky storefront, bodega look. This place serves the real stuff! Beats the chains hands down.

“THE BEST PLACE TO DINE IM STATESBORO”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2013 via mobile

I am a recent graduate of Georgia Southern University. I lived in this vacinity for four years and found this little gem in my final semester. The food is top notch. It beats the hell out of el sombrero (aka THE HAT). The prices are on par with Taco Bell yet the quality is supreme: like nachos. Speaking of nachos, their chip bar is totally complementary. It includes multiple types of fresh salsa, pico de gallo, and UNLIMITED sour cream... FOR FREE. My roommate and I dined at this location approximately 3 times per week over the final 3 months of the year and were always delighted by the wonderful food and friendly service. If you're considering a place to take your friends or family, this is it. You will find no better food at any price within the Statesboro area which is as decadent as that served by the master chefs at EL RINCONCITO.

“Friendly staff, reasonable prices, and good food.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

Worth the visit just for the nacho bar. Staff made an egg dish for us even though it was not on the menu. Fish and vegetarian options were well done. This was also for a very reasonable price.

“Order the tongue!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2012

Great lunch spot, kind of a hole in the wall, but very authentic Mexican cuisine. If you like beef, ask for the tongue when you order tacos or burritos. Sounds freaky, but even as picky as I am I became a fan instantly!

“Never again.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012 via mobile

Went here and thought I would take a chance on a different kind of Mexican restaurant locally. Did not really care for the atmosphere that much as you had to walk in through a Mexican grocery store into what seemed like an older small town diner that have been slightly run down. You had to self serve yourself chips and salsa from a mini bar in the food took quite some time to finally come out. I ordered the basic beef taco and a burrito and something was very strange about the meat. Not even 2 or 3 hours later both me and my friend both got extremely sick and are pretty sure that we got food poisoned from there. I would definitely stick to the other well known Mexican restaurant in the area here.
