“Met highest expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013 via mobile

Wonderful Easter Sunday dinner. The crab maisson was perfect as there is nothing like fresh blue claw crabmeat. We had a cowboy ribeye and lobster tails for the main entrees and both were very fine. Zelda, our server was exceptional getting everything just right.

“Overrated”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

Price value is out of line. The food is excellent but not quite worth the price. This is not our first five star rodeo so it wasn't sticker shock. It is just compared to other five star restaurants it didn't hold up. The foie gras was outstanding!!! However the shrimp bisque was hardly touched and no one seemed to care. The tomahawk ribeye was good, just great. The wine list was good, full bottle prices very expensive and half bottle selection was limited. Unfortunately for a Sunday night it was very slow that may have influenced the caliber of the cuisine.

“Fantastic Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

Had a wonderful meal here with fantastic service. My husband had steak and lobster tail and I had the fish of the day which was grouper. Our server Christopher was on top of everything and had great suggestions for wines for the meal. Enjoyed the beautiful surroundings. Would highy recommend to anyone staying at the Cloisters for a nice meal and evening out. We took the shuttle from Cloisters to the Lodge which was great service.

“Not to be missed. My favorite island restaurant.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

Nothing to dislike. The menu has something for everyone, excellent wine list. Dessert souffle is not to be missed. A special treat is the bagpipe at dusk.

“Inconsistent service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

We would have rated it excellent based solely on our first visit, however we chose to eat there a second time which was sub par. First evening our server was prompt, helpful and knowledgable. The meal was Devine. Oysters on the half shell, steaks cooked to perfection & table side prep of the bananas foster!! Job well done! Second trip, New Year's eve, waited 20 minutes past our reservation time for table. Our waitress seemed rattled the entire dinner, slow to take and deliver drink orders, refill water glasses , etc. for a table of 7 only 4 order dessert which she proceeded to deliver at 4 different times!! The whole process took 15 minutes which was ridiculous. To be charged the prices we were, service should have been top- notch.
