We decided to try this restaurant because of the reviews on Trip Advisor. The building interior is really cute and done well. The service was decent, nothing special but good. We tried a lot of different things. I am picky about my seafood so maybe the other reviewers are not aware of how really good seafood is suppose to taste.
The ceviche, a special for the night, was over cooked. I know some people don't mind a chewier ceviche. I should have known better when I was told it was mixed shrimp and grouper. ATL restaurants have a very hard time cooking mixed ceviche properly. The good thing is that you could tell the fish they used was decent fish, no fish taste.
The crab salad, good crab, the rest of the salad was very bland but fresh ingredients. I wish they had pepper on the table. I should have waited and gotten some lemons or something for flavor.
Gumbo, my family is from NOLA so I am picky and the gumbo was pretty good.
Mussels, just ok. Not bad but nothing special. The broth needed to be reduced a bit more, the white wine flavor was still too strong.
Clams, I was so excited to eat steamed clams I haven't had them in years, disappointed. The clams were ripe and a bit gritty. Not what I had hoped for.
We finally said forget this lets just order the fried stuff and see if that is what everyone likes, we are in the south. The fried mix seafood is calamari, grouper, shrimp and lemons. Quality seafood but again no flavor. We should have waited and asked for more lemons or something to give it some flavor.
Fried fish tacos on corn tortillas, this was by far the best thing we had and probably some of the best fish tacos I have had in Atlanta area. I am not a fan of fried food but if I was forced to go back to this restaurant I would order the fish tacos hands down.
They had a good bar menu and was very well priced, but the drinks were not very good, thrown together and often done with incorrect ingredients (tonic is not the same as club soda) We tried the sangria, special of the day beer, mojito and tried to get a basic vodka soda cran.
So overall we didn't enjoy our experience at this restaurant but it seems that a lot of other people really like it. We got the last parking spot in the parking lot. I am not from the south, have lived both in New England and Southern Cali (which is the type of food they serve)
