Description: Hammocks Trading Company is the choice for high quality seafood in North Atlanta. Local owners Jason Sheetz and William Sigley pride themselves on great food, service, bar, and atmosphere. Together they have 50 years of restaurant experience at the best restaurants in Atlanta and Las Vegas. Hammocks combines our attention to detail with a casual neighborhood feel. Our most reviewed items include the BBQ Oysters and the Baked Salmon. Both were reviewed in the Atlanta Journal and Constitution and on Atlanta Eats. Our menu features cuisine from the southern coastal regions of the United States. Gumbo, Shrimp and Grits, BBQ Ribs are just a few examples. Our fresh veggies include fried okra, creamed corn, and collard greens. The grouper sandwich was voted the best sandwich in Atlanta. Our other sandwiches include the Crispy Shrimp or Oyster Po-Boys, Smoked Chicken Salad, Brisket, and the Salmon BLTA. We are family friendly and have options for all ages. Every item from the kitchen is made from scratch.

“"Wow"'Appeal! Fantastic Food & Service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013 via mobile

We had dinner at this establishment last evening & right after we were seated I was having doubts, but the service & food made up for the "Tavern" Decor!
The roasted oysters with BBQ Butter were incredibly unique in flavor ! Very nice! The fish stew was awesome with a roux & amazing flavor combinations! The wine was very nice & my dining partner's salmon in parchment paper was delish!
Pay no attention to the decor & being able to see in a part of the kitchen!
This place rocks!
Service was top notch!

“Perfect local”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

Hammocks is just what the area needed. It's been consistently & surprisingly good every time we've been here. The restaurant is very low-key and friendly. I've had the gumbo several times and it's excellent every time, nice and deep and just spicy enough. The lamb ribs are great, maybe not to everyones taste if you don't like lamb, but to me they're like a more refined pork rib. The pickled shrimp has always been good, as have the salads. I haven't really had too many entree's here apart from the fish tacos, which were great. Overall though, my wife & I stick to appetizers and small plates and always leave happy. The beer list seems fine, not extensive and usually I'll drink a red stripe here. I'm sure in the summer with the windows open it'll be a perfect neighborhood hang out.

“Keeps getting better!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

For some unknown reason, good seafood is tough to find in metro Atlanta. Kyma and Bluepoint are outstanding - but located well inside the perimeter and so a bit of a trek from the upper burbs.
We have visited Hammock Trading around seven times in a few months and the menu has been
Delightfully updated/rotated at least twice in that time period. Neither we nor our guests have ever
Been let down - on the contrary! We enjoy trying something different each time and the choices are always very creative , fresh , nicely presented and delicious. The wait staff is enthusiastic and very well informed about food and wine. The owner, Jason always stops by with an interesting story or tidbit about the wine list which is also well thought out. Check the website for offers- our favorite is half price bottles of wine on Tuesday's . This restaurant is also a very good value-all entrees are less than $20.00!

“Sophistication on Roswell Road”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

Party of 8 including 3 children tried this new restaurant for dinner. Menu is interesting and ala carte, but does include a number of choices for children. The kids all ate and enjoyed fancy corn dogs prepared. Adults had a variety of interesting salads and main courses that included beef, seafood and gumbo. Salads were well dressed and food was served hot. Hammocks is a new, renovated restaurant that replaces a neighborhood watering hole. Parking is tight. Service was almost too attentive. We enjoyed the evening and will return.
