“Georgia History”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

It is only $3 for admission and it is worth the money. It was a fun few hours walking around the old fort sight and reading about the history of our states's coastal region.

The history of this place was great of what was once there. If your a history buff, it is worth the trip across the island.

“A step in history”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

Fort Frederica didn't last very long, but it served as a defense against the Spanish and Indians in early times. The ruins have been preserved and docents help you walk through what was the first English settlement in Georgia

It was very cool to see the history, but the bugs were HORRIBLE! We even had seed ticks on us. The grass hadn't been cut in weeks.

“Historic St. Simons Island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2012

For anyone wondering how St. Simons Island was settled by the British, Fort Frederica has all the answers. Only tabby ruins are left from the 1736 fort, but wayside descriptions bring to life the individual families who settled here.
