smells like smoke and food is not good. Its average at best.. Rooms were clean but need updating. staff was nice but not well trained. Did not provide equal service to all guest allowing some to have late stays for free and denying others. Its probally only for a one night stay but would want to stay too long.

Decent hotel. It is somewhat out of the way from Rome. A little worn, but not in bad shape. Rooms were clean and neat. Beds were comfortable. Sound proofing left a little to be desired. I could easily hear anything happening in the hall outside my door. Staff was friendly enough.

Believe this hotel may have formerly been something else - because it certainly doesn't scream, "Hampton Inn," to me. While Hampton is known as being an affordable stop over, it's also known as being a better class than it's competitors typically, at the same price point. I would not say that applies, here. Dated rooms, walls, furnishings. They've upgraded where you see it right away - when you walk in to the lobby, and the dining area - but the rest of the hotel reminds me of a bad Norman Bates scene. The staff is SUPER friendly though, and amazingly kind, and if anything I'll take top notch service anyday...but sadly, the sweet receptionist isn't housing me at her home - I'm paying to stay in rooms that are as old as Father Time. Come on, Hampton Inn - show Rome, Georgia some love and a little, ( or big, ) remodel. I'd take my business to one of the other two hotels off Hobson Rd...newer and or newly remodeled same price point.

In Rome to attend baseball camp with son's. We arrived late and the clerk was very helpful, giving directions to our event which was early the next morning and arranging a wake up call. Hotel was clean, quiet and we would stay there again.

We found this hotel to be a good value, especially the free breakfast. The location was a bit out from central Rome, but convenient enough and quiet. Minor problems in the room--drain stopper in bathroom sink wasn't functional; microwave either didn't work or wasn't intuitive to figure out. Other than those issues, the room was clean and comfortable. Staff was nice, esp. the gentleman who helped me figure out the waffle iron instructions; and the staff who let us check out a little late.

The staff is wonderful and extremely helpful. Check in and check out a breeze. Great location if. Rooms were a little on the musty side, but that dissapated over time as the air conditioning continued to be on. Just can't say enough about the staff, they were very helpful and welcoming.

We had a good night's sleep, which is what we were after. It was a little over-priced by 5-10 dollars, for a city the size of Rome. That opinion may be slightly tempered by the fact that it was a suite instead of a standard room. We were not expecting to get a suite. I don;t recall there was any indication on the HI website that we were requesting a suite. I think their web master should attend to that and make the room type a little more obvious.

This location was having a contest to see which employee could get the most comment cards complimenting their work, so comment cards were all over the place. As I recall the purpose of the cards from previous visits to a HI, the cards are to bemused when you "catch" someone doing a good job. It seems like they were asking us to catch them. I suppose that's OK if, when the contest is over, the employees have increased the target behavior. Some biggie at this location (I think the manager or desk person) left a hand-written welcome note in our room with some snacks. That was kind of nice.

We regularly use the hotel exercise rooms when we travel. It was nice to once again see a HI with high-quality WORKING equipment. HI apparently has a contract with Precor which makes excellent exercise equipment (take the word of a recently retired professor of exercise science). The down side of the exercise room was that the tv did not get all the same channels you get up i the room. That may be some type of cost-cutting thing, but it should be changed.

The evening at the hotel was very quiet. When we came back to the hotel after our evening activity there was a lot of cars in the parking lot, so there was potential for some noise; there was none.

Breakfast was the typical HI breakfast. Everything we ate we liked. There was an unexpected variety of yogurt. We liked that. Unlike many hotels there were some items for diabetics. Neither of us fall in that category, but We've seen many places where they may as well put up a sign saying "Diabetics not welcome at breakfast." Thanks to the hotel for including these items on the menu.

This location seemed to be an older version of the hotel. The elevator location was in a weird location (too difficult to explain). If a 2-3 of people are waiting on the elevator, they are completely blocking a main hallway. Even one person with a luggage cart is a major obstacle. Speaking of the luggage cart, I like the roller bumpers on the corners.

I suppose that' enough for now.

Room Tip: Go for a first floor room )off to the left when you enter and you won;t have to worry about the bott...
