We were told by some locals that La Scala was a good restaurant, but our experience was just the opposite. It took them 20 minutes to take our order...it all went downhill from there. Our party of 8 (which included 3 young children) waited 1 1/2 hours before being served our appetizers and salads. After waiting 2 1/2 hours, we finally walked out before our entrees were even served! But it gets worse...they actually charged us $130 for the appetizers and drinks! Not even an apology or explanation of the delay was given by the owner. Two members of our party were so outraged that they waited for the entrees and brought them home on principle. Well, they shouldn't have wasted anymore of their time, because the food was TERRIBLE. I tried the gnocchi and it tasted like lumpy mashed potato balls. La Scala is the worst restaurant ever !!

Better than one might expect in a town this size. Well prepared and presented primarily Northern Italian cuisine. Service was professional and and attentive. Good wine list with varieties of European and American.
