“Good Food and Drink”

MacPherson's had a great atmosphere and a good Scottish story. The food was very good, and the beer choices were great. The service was super.

“A mix of a Scottish Pub and an American Sports Bar”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

This is a mix between a real Scottish Pub and an American Sports Bar. Stopped for lunch, and the food was a variety of American, Scottish and English favorites. Their selection of Scottish single malts is large, and they have a variety typically English drafts. Location is a little hard to find, but it is worth it. Staff was very accomodating.

“Loved the bangers and mash”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013

My husband and I had been here once before when we were staying overnight in Richmond Hill and wanted to try it again since we like it so much the last time, which was several years ago.

We ordered the Scottish appetizer, which consisted of onion rings, 2 meat pies and the scottish egg. All were very good. We both ended up ordering the bangers and mash for our entree. Besides the potatoes needing a little more salt for my taste, it was delicious. My husband didn't think they needed more salt at all. He didn't even use the gravy that came with it as he like them just the way they were. The meal had four sausages, potatoes and a wonderful yeast roll. I didn't care for the flavored butter they gave you, but it was good without the butter at all. I prefer plain old butter. We ordered the chocolate cake for dessert to share. I came with ice cream and had a raspberry sauce on top.

All were very reasonably priced. The appetizer, entrees and dessert (and tax) all came to only $34. We were stuffed! We would definitely go there again if we are in the area.

“Try the Scotch Flights”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

First visited in September 2012 before moving to the area. Food was excellent then, and just as good on our second visit late last month and third visit this past week. I'm partial to the Guinness Stew while others enjoyed the sandwiches (Molly's Favorite), Bangers & Mash, and salmon.

On this last visit we intentionally planned to try the Scotch Flights - small samples of different brands and types of scotch. Similar to wine tastings, the scotch flights provide a unique way to learn about the different types of scotch depending on the production location. My wife and I shared two flights ($22 per flight), and thoroughly enjoyed sipping our way through Scotland. Please drink responsibly and always have a designated driver like we did.

“Great choice for a place to eat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

Waitress was excellent. Decor and setup were very comfortable. Varied and different selections on the menu. Large screen televisions. Just a nice place to have a good dinner.
