“Beautiful State Park”

Love going to Ft. McAllister at Christmas when they have Civil war re-enactments. Nice park with lovely cabins for families.

“Great historical visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2012

The fort is in great condition and a terrific visit for history buffs. We walked the entire perimeter and spend well over 3 hours looking in each and every corner.

“Impressive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2012

This was well worth doing and very interesting. Its very well maintained, but we went on a day with the heat index over 100 degrees, so I probably didnt get as much out of it as I would have otherwise.

“Good Museum-Happy I Stopped”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2012

I'm very happy I stopped and saw this very good, under-rated, Civil War museum.
It's a good way east of I-95, but well worth the trip to see this piece of history.
This is where General Sherman's famous "March to the Sea" ended, and he made contact with the Union Navy, ending his march across Georgia-and pretty much destroying any hope the Confederate's had.
A 'must stop' for any history buff.

“step back in time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2012

Great way to introduce a little history into your child's life. We are locals and visit the forts in the area from time to time. We take the kids, because they are usually begging to go. This is a great outdoor activity with lots to take in.
