Do not be deceived by the pleasant pictures posted online. What the pictures do not show is the deteriorating town surrounding a desolate highway, or the truck stop across the street, or even the gas station in the parking lot beside the hotel. If one felt safe enough to exit the vehicle, a restful night sleep is sure to be impossible with the ambient noise of a 24 hour service center. The exterior of the hotel was in great need of repair. To be highlighted as a "Bed and Breakfast", it's comparable to a 24h road-side greasy spoon (at $80+/ night). No "romantic" or even "peaceful" get away here, as the website suggests. The only purely truthful statement on the advertisement is the word "cheap," in all sense of the word.

My husband and I were spending several weeks touring the US by train and car. We opted to stay 5 nights at the Inn at Mulberry Grove en route between New York and Texas! We didn't regret it. Although the Inn is a bit out of Savannah, it's easy to get there by car and indeed the Sanannah Trolley Tour will pick you up and drop you free of charge.
Don't be put off by the busy roads around the Inn (coming from Scotland it was a shock for us at first). Once in the Inn you hardly notice the traffic. They even have a little garden with water feature and fairy lights! The rooms are spacious and clean, breakfast good and the owners welcoming and helpful. All round we had a really nice stay.
Nearby Island Grill has terrific food!

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary with a trip to Savannah. We decided to economize and booked our reservation at this hotel as it sounded adequate for our needs. The room we were given definitely was worn. While the king-size bed was acceptable and the AC worked, the chair's upholstery was ripped and all of furniture was very used with knicks and bangs. Worst of all, the room smelled strongly of "institutional deodorizer" during the entire stay The breakfast was included, and it had a nice selection. However, the buffet and eating areas were far too small for the number of people at the hotel. Despite cool temperatures, some guests had to take their food outside to eat. We had planned to stay there for 3 nights, but decided to check out after one night and head for a hotel in town. We had a much better albeit more expensive experience after we made the change. It is true that you get what you pay for.

My boyfriend and I stayed her may 22-24th! We absolutely loved it! It is way to expensive to stay on river street so we stayed here and were very happy about the stay! Easy check in and check out! Buffet breakfast was very good! I will def be back to stay here when we go back to Savannah!

We didn't really enjoy our stay there. The pictures on the website are really nice, but do not accurately reflect the condition of the rooms there. Rooms there are really small, the vinyl furniture was discolored and damaged (vinyl was ripped and had holes in it) and the walls had a lot of dirt spots and damage. The room maintained a terrible musty odor, that we assume came from the carpet, which we had to try to mask by purchasing and constantly using room deodorizer. The odor was made worse by use of the a/c / heater unit because it seemed to just stir up the smell.

The bathroom was extremely small. For you ladies, the toilet seat is very large, which doesn't seem to work well for petite women. Also, there is no toilet lid. A few bugs were spotted here and there.

The location off of I-95 is great, maybe too great. You constantly hear noise from the highway in addition to roaring truck engines from the truck stop across the street and the access road next to the motel. As far as other noises, the walls are very thin and you can hear neighbors on both sides talking, snoring, listening to the radio, watching television, etc.

Wireless and wired Internet is free, but the wireless isn't too fast. I definitely recommend using the cable. Breakfast is great, if you only want a waffle. The eggs and sausage are bad. Washing machines and vending machines are located outside.

This could be a great place, but it needs an "extreme makeover" - repainting the walls, cleaning the carpet, fixing or replacing the furniture, getting toilet lids, getting edible breakfast, and just simply letting the rooms air out often. The antique feel of the furniture and the nice bedding give you somewhat of a nice hotel feel, but the door that opens to the parking lot reminds you that it’s “just a motel”.

Bottom line, hotel lovers – spend the extra $20 and go to a hotel. Motel lovers – you’ll be just fine.

Cute, but in need of a facelift.....Vynal chairs were tattered. The room was tiny, so the oversized furniture filled it completely. An overwhelming anticeptic oder kept me wondering what was being covered up! The breakfast eggs and sausage must be something synthetic. Staff was friendly and helpful and there is nothing wrong with the location. We flew in and it was a first night only place, but I'd recommend spending another $20 for a comfortable stay.
