“Super avaition museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

Beautiful museum with outstanding exhibits. Not very many places have a restored B-17 and theirs is in excellent shape. Not only is a beautiful museum but it is dedicated to the men of the Eighth Air Force which was founded in Savannah in 1942. The memorial gardens are a wonderful place to spend a little time. Quite a few of the volunteers served with the Eighth in WWII and have wonderful stories to share. A can't miss stop for aviation buffs.

“This Museum Has Something For All”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2013

We have visited the Mighty Eighth Museum and have watched the museum grow over the past several years. We have a family member who served in WWII and we love to make the visit with him. A great treat is when his great grandchildren come too.

There are exhibits of interest to ALL ages. There are some hands on exhibits for the children. A B-17 Bomber has been restored in one exhibit area. We appreciate the fact that many of the volunteer guides were former members of the Air Force during WWII. There are movies galore along with a plethora of items from the different theaters of the war. One movie that is very moving places you inside the cockpit of a fighter plane; there are lots of noise and flashing lights and may not be suitable for very young children. Be sure to visit the gardens outside, as well as a chapel, and other plane exhibits.

Anyone interested in WWII will be enthralled with this place. Plan to spend at least a couple or three hours for a good visit. Wear comfortable shoes as there's a bunch of walking if you see the entire museum.

A beautiful and impressive facility with great volunteers. The B-17 restoration project looks great, the Chapel and stained glass are superb. I thoroughly enjoyed the visit.

“Should be seen”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013

I have stopped a few times at this museum over the last few years. It has been worth the time to see all the additions added each time. The exhibits are very good and the volunteers who served in WWII have great insight to add to the exhibits. They are in the process of restoring a B-17 in the main area.
