Red Roof Inns, when they do their "Redesigned & Rededicated" improvements correctly, really are a great deal. The price is usually right, and the rooms are terrific -- with almost the feel of a NYC boutique hotel.
When they don't do them right, they're terrible -- as was their location at the Jacksonville, FL airport, where I initially stayed on one particular night on a driving trip from Florida to NC. As a matter of fact, I couldn't stand the room, I checked out in an hour and got my money back.
Then I drove up the I-95 a bit more and landed in the Savannah area and found this Red Roof Inn (Pooler, GA) and my faith in Red Roof was regained. Ok, this location does not have the Redesigned & Rededicated improvements yet (at least not in the entire hotel), but it was still very nice -- MUCH better than the JAX location which somehow thought that putting on new bedspreads and slapping paint on the walls made it fresh & new ... NOT!
This property is all indoors, the front desk folk terrific, and the room felt very comfortable and clean. I would definitely stay here again.
