“Good Value & Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2011

Despite other poor reviews, my wife and I had a pleasant stay at this Microtel. For a total of $64 this place was a great deal compared to other lodging options surrounding the Savannah area. At only 10-15 minutes outside of Savannah, the location was also great. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable! I also loved the strong water pressure of the shower. It felt amazing after doing primitive camping on Cumberland Island the night before! Don't be afraid of the poor reviews, this place is a good value.

When you book a hotel because your friends tell you the drive down everything is booked and there is lots of traffic delays and you state this when you book and again from the road as it gets later and later. YOU EXPECT THAT WHEN YOU GET THERE YOUR SO CALLED GUARANTEED ROOM WILL BE THERE. Called from the road at 2 and told them, tornado warnings and traffic are promising seven hour ETA to Savannah make sure you hold my room. They say no problem GUARANTEED held no matter what. Confirmed 2 queen beds for 4 people. We get there exactly 7 hrs later than planned 430 Am and the girl at the desk nonchalantly said, gave it away at 4 I can do that, and promised not to charge us, what nerve, then finds one bed with a tiny filthy sofabed. This is not the kind of hotel you would ever consider putting your kids on sofabed . The sheets on it were FILTHY and I had to go get some, put them on myself and put my two huge kids in this thing!

We stayed for one night and I booked this place because of the rate I got on Priceline which was $50 per night, $60 with tax. This place is a dump. I found dried poop on the toilet seat & the bathroom was filthy (hair on floor, old chipped mirror, overall dirty & not clean). The furnishing were all worn & used looking, the television small, the carpet unfresh & dirty. The give crappy little soap bars & one little bottle of sample shampoo.

I must say the beds were comfortable, but with the knowledge of such a dirty place...I didn't sleep very well.

The breakfast is all carbs, no fruit, the coffee tasted like swill & I couldn't even drink it. We went to Denny's down the road & had a nice breakfast.

The ladies at the front desk were nice & helpful when I needed some extra towels.

Other than that, I will never stay at a Microtel again.

This was my first trip to the Savannah area. Since we were traveling down for St. Patrick's, it was very hard to find an open hotel and one that was not $300 +. The value for our room was really good and the room was very clean. The only downside was that even with the Do Not Disturb sign on the door, housekeepping did call the room and after getting no answer they came to the door and knocked. Our room was also at the end of the hall next to the door. Every time someone went through the door it would slam shut. That made it a bit hard to sleep through out the night. Over all I would stay in this hotel again.

Having stayed at one Microtel (in Huntsville) and thought it capital, I tried this one as a stopover on a trip. Wasn't as nice (or new, to be fair) as the one before, but it was okay. Nothing spectacular, basic lodging, but it was clean, the clerk was courteous and there were no problems with our reservation or stay. Breakfast basic, did the job of feeding us. Downtown Savannah a reasonable drive away, giving prices are rather higher to stay in Savannah proper. As has been noted, didn't like not having an elevator and walking up steps, but that's the case in many places.

i hated this hotel i stayed here because i stayed at microtel in statesville nc and loved it.but this one was not the same. the lady who checked us in was very nice but the first room we got smelled and the ac knobs were broken so you could not adjust it. the second room was much smaller and there was a bug on the bed don't know what it was the toilet kept running all night and bath towels were dirty had hair and soap on them a very nasty dirty place.i can't comment on breakfast because after all that i was even going to chance it.
