“Great little mom and pop type motel.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2014

This place had been around for fifty years or more. It's the old small roadside type motel that used to predominate rural America up into the mid 70's. It could use some fresh paint and updating here and there, but overall it's a pretty nice basic motel, and best of all it's not owned by a big chain. The owners are who you deal with when you are there and they are both very nice and accommodating. The room was clean and the a/c worked great, which was a really good thing as it was hot and humid when we visited in late June 2014. We will have our young niece for a couple of weeks in July or August and plan to take her to Callaway Gardens one weekend. I fully intend to stay here again then. It's only about five minutes to Callaway Gardens.

We stayed here from 10/16/2013 to 10/20/2013. We had a different location reserved, (a large chain) but after reading bad reviews, got rid of the reservations and reserved here instead. The room was CLEAN and COMFORTABLE! As stated in other reviews, the furniture was old, but functional and most important, CLEAN! The owner was very friendly and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. She also spent a lot of time with us, telling us the best places to eat, and where we should visit while in town. And I forgot to mention how QUIET is was here. The building is mostly cinder block, even between the rooms, so you couldn't hear a thing going on in the other rooms. No bumping, voices, or any other noise that you would normally hear coming from the room next door. All the rooms have windows with screens that you can open for fresh air, and there is a small sitting area underneath a large Magnolia tree in the front. I also spied furniture and a swing in the back. Coffee, orange juice, bagels, and honey buns are served in the morning. There are several nice places to eat nearby also.

We stayed Oct. 18th and 19th 2013 for a event in the area. We were happy with the price, and that the room was very clean the bed was very comfortable. We were a bit afraid of what we would find after reading some of the older comments, but when we got there we were very happy with our room. We stayed in Room 12, the owners were very helpful and very sweet people. We had a friend who stayed as well and his room was very clean also. It has older furniture but that is a plus for us it was pretty.

My wife & I are retired and stayed here in late March 2013 while vacationing. While some rooms have been updated, ours had not. Although the furnishings were old, they were spotlessly clean. We chatted with the owner and mentioned that I liked a flat panel tv and my wife a clean bathroom and bed. She laughed and said that was her perception of the difference between male & female guests! The next thing I knew she went to her bedroom and brought me her husband and her flat screen tv. and took the tv in our room to use that evening. This was a first for me! We spent an hour talking to the motel manager between checking in and eating breakfast with her. This is why we LOVE getting to know owner/operators of family run motels.

Room Tip: Just tell the motel owner what you would like. She will do her best to accommodate you!

Owners held my room reservation with just my name and number. Were friendly from the time I called through check out process. If you arrive late you pick up a phone outside office and owner runs over from his neat home beside hotel. Clean room and grounds and very close to Call away gardens. For $55 was right in line with price points for area and just low enough to encourage me away from staying 35-45 minutes away in Columbus. Don't expect a Marriott and you won't be dissapointed.

This is what a budget hotel is suppose to be. I checked in and the lady was polite and extremely nice. The grounds were well kept and there was plenty of places to sit outside and enjoy the outdoors. The room was very clean but decor was dated but who cares as long as everything works. The breakfast was lacking but for the price I saved on the room I went and had a nice lunch down the street.

We liked the room and the price was unbeatable. Not greedy! So many other places were expensive, and staying here allowed us to spend money on other things in the the area! The motel owners were sweet and accommodating, and always around if we needed anything or had any questions. It was small but quaint. It suited our needs for the few days we stayed, and we liked it so much, we extended our stay there! We would stay there again.
