My mom and I traveled to Pine Mountain to visit Callaway Gardens for the Christmas lights. I picked this hotel based on price and the reviews I had read.
The hotel is an older style hotel and clearly has been around for a while, so expect it to look a little tired- Also, the room we had didn't look like any pictured on their website- upon discussions with the owner it sounds like they are updating what they can, so it is possible that some rooms look like that. The furniture was older and somewhat scratched. However, it was clean and the beds were comfortable. I saw that one of the other reviews mentioned that the room smelled of stale mold- didn't find that at all. In fact, the windows were all open in the room when we arrived (and it was in the 40s)- we were told that they kept them open when the rooms were not being used to allow them to air out. I will admit that I was concerned that the room would never get warm after having the windows open so long, however within an hour it was very toasty in the room.
The couple who run this hotel are very nice and extremely helpful. They went out of their way to provide anything we needed, even replaced the microwave in the room. Also, provided a coffee machine upon request. Would stay here again if I ever visit Callaway again.
Positives: Very close to Callaway Gardens (about 1 to 2 minute by car). Clean rooms.
Negatives: Older hotel, small bathroom. The continental breakfast was served outside, however I believe that was due to small lobby area- you would be better off grabbing breakfast elsewhere.
