The Knights Inn Perry rates as close to the bottom as it gets. I had the displeasure of staying a night here recently, for a convention at the nearby GA state fairgrounds. This two story motel seems to be undergoing some type of an update, a "nightmare" renovation at that! There were paint stains all around the bathroom floor. The caulking looks as if it was done by someone taking DUI test! And it looks as if a better paint job could have been achieved by just tossing the paint on the walls, directly out of the can.
To say the room was filthy is paying too high a compliment. The microwave was covered with fine particles of dirt. Absolutely disgusting! A chair was not only covered with stains, but its fabric was torn apart, its' inner cushion protruding from the top.
Most disturbing were the bed sheets and pillow cases which were stained, dirty, and clearly not recently laundered. The pillow were yellowed with age. The sheets were wrinkled and seemed as if the housekeeping staff simply made the beds, without replacing fresh bed linens for new guests. I literally considered going to the nearby Walmart to buy new pillows and bed linens.
However, the hotel desk staff was pleasant, and friendly and reminded me of their free continental breakfast when I originally checked in. I passed of course, and quite frankly, have never been more pleased to leave a motel at the crack of dawn!
