“Striking Atmosphere, average fare.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2011

The Hill is tucked away in the thick woods of south Fulton County and crowned with a Country Home decor that is tough to beat. It pains me that I could not give the Hill an "excellent" rating because of the quality and lack of flavor in the food. The quality of service, food presentation, and atmosphere clearly outshines any equally classed restaurant. The problem is that much of the flavor in our main courses never made it out of the kitchen.

I don't think that the food was terribly overpriced. I actually believe the food would be a value if the entrees delivered on the flavor.

Some of the items that kept the Hill from falling into the poor category are as follows:

Wine: The wine selection is not extensive, but the Hill's offerings are excellent and any wine lover can find one with which he or she will connect. The wines are all reasonably priced.

Dessert: The desserts were actually very good and appeared to be meticulously made. The desserts are reasonably priced and caused us to leave the Hill with a smile on our faces.

Service: The staff at the Hill is awesome. Our waiter was very attentive and answered all of our questions about the menu.

The Hill is a lovely restaurant and has tremendous potential to be great.

“Way over priced!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2011

This was way over priced for what you get. I had a restaurant .com coupon worth $25. We had entree only, water to drink and it cost us $85. The food was ok, but not worth that price.

“This restaurant is definitely worth the trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2011

Just 20 minutes south on I 85 from the Atlanta airport in the hamlet of Serenbe, in Chattahoochee Hills, you will find a terrific restaurant. Chef Hilary, from Panos 103 West has opened her own establishment called The Hil and it is worth the drive. Serenbe and the restaurant are charming. The service is personal and prompt. I have eaten there dozens of times and never had anything but a great meal. Her home made soups are the best. Her beef is prime center of the plate, her pastry chef is fabulous. She is inventive. Last week I had Fla stone crabs with avocado, grapefruit and a remoulade that was sensational. Try it and you will like it!

“Delightful evening”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2011

The restaurant is much nicer than the online photos show. The dining room is spacious and light. The menu, while not large, covers many bases. Service was friendly and efficient. The appetizers were huge. My crab fritters were all crab and there were at least 6 of them. His charcuterie plate was awesome. We boxed half of it to eat the next day. My lamb with risotto was delicious in a rich stock. His flounder was good, but slightly dry. We very much enjoyed our meal here and will return. Prices are reasonable for the decor, service, and quality of food.
