“Service absolutely awful.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2013

The front of house representatives know very little, and could care less to know more, about amenities, activities, and correct information in general. We did a lot of running around to make up for what has the potential to be on par with watercolor, seaside, other "utopia"-styled getaways. Housekeeping left large chunks of food on our floors. So much improvement needed here I do not know where to begin. A swift replacement of whoever the buck stops with on service would be a start.

I spent a long weekend with friends in one of the cottages, our second gathering at Serenbe. There is a lot on the plus side--unique & beautiful setting, fantastic trail ride (thanks to Ashley & Josh at the stables), charming rooms, comfortable beds. Unfortunately, the customer service (except for the trail ride and for Danielle's service at breakfast) needs a complete overhaul. The "customer service" desk was staffed by nice but clueless young folks who didn't have answers to any of our questions and couldn't be bothered to find someone who could help us.Our server the first morning practically bit our heads off when we politely asked for water. We had to ask repeatedly for various basic housekeeping services for our cottage, such as replacing missing or burned out lightbulbs, cleaning out cobwebs throughout the house, etc. The one time we tried to use the TV we couldn't get the color to come on (only black & white) and there were no instructions and, naturally, no one was available at customer service to help us.
All in all, this could be a fantastic place to relax and have fun, but unless they improve the service, it's not worth the price.

I had a work event at Serenbe, so we booked "The Roost" for me, my boyfriend and a few coworkers. Honestly, we didn't know what to expect because we were not familiar with Serenbe. Upon arrival, we were surprised at how beautiful the check in area was. Another guest was there renting bicycles. Such a welcoming introduction. We took the cute little cow bell key and drove to "The Roost". We had no idea how beautiful the house was going to be. The kitchen is to die for, and the furniture is comfortable and not overdone. Cookies awaited us on the counter :-) We stayed in one of the masters downstairs, and it was so nice and quiet. We were able to walk to dinner and to the coffee shop in the morning. I am love with the area. We checked out The Nest community, which are for sale, and omg, they are so well done and beautiful. I wish that Serenbe was closer to us, because this would be a great place to own a weekend home. LOVE!

We've come to know the hamlet of Serenbe since our daughter relocated there for the summer. This relaxing community offers a great getaway from the hub-bub of everyday life with neat shopping, great restaurants and unique accommodations in the country. There are rooms in the historic farmhouse inn or in a number of outbuildings within a brief walk. We selected a room in a restored barn next to a beautiful pool which featured three double beds. The accommodations were relaxed and rustic - not at all fussy - and the building also offered a common room that all three private bedrooms could share. The night includes a full delicious country breakfast at the nearby (practically adjacent in most cases) Farmhouse Restaurant that is wonderful. We've found several weekends booked up for conferences and weddings but during the the Inn offers some specials that can take the rate (normally $200+) down as low as $119 Sundays through Thursday (like spend $60 at dinner at the Farmhouse Restaurant or take in a show at the wonderful Serenbe Playhouse - show your receipt when checking out to get the discounted rate, etc). We've used both Farmhouse and Playhouse special rates, and both are well worth it! The Serenbe Playhouse, by the way, has a wonderful children's show running (The Velveteen Rabbit) on Friday and Saturday mornings this summer, and a great evening show (A Walk in the Woods) running Thursday through Sunday nights, both well worth seeing! It's a unique outdoor theatre experience, and our family enjoyed both shows.

Went to Serenbe for a business function and extended our stay for the weekend. We stayed in the Dogwood cottage #24. The room was very clean and bed very comfortable. Small refrigerator in closet and coffee maker. There was a jar of regular and decaf coffee and a bowl of creamers in the fridge. Also various teas and sugar. Old style TV equipped with direct TV and wireless internet. Shared a beautiful porch with room next door with rocking chairs. It was so peaceful just sitting there reading, listening to the various animals and gazing at the lake and pastures.

On check in only a small brochure was provided and we were not told anything other than a $25 charge if we don't turn in the key. If you call for service or have a question you will very likely get an answer machine. They could improve on customer service. Housekeeping ladies were very nice but did the minimum. For the room rental prices you might expect more. The first day they didn't make up the room until 5:00. On the second day, our dirty coffee cups and wine glasses were not replaced with fresh ones. However, to our surprise the ladies brought us a plate of brownies and cookies on our second night. I found out later that your room rate also includes bedtime treats, but they were not received on our first night .

The resturants were fantastic! We ate at The Hil, The Farmhouse and Blue Daisy. The food was exceptional and fresh at each place. Be sure to try some sweet treats at Blue Daisy. Because we were not told about anything at check in we did not enjoy the free breakfast at The Farmhouse, that was a disappointment because we had heard it was Delish.

I would not choose Senebe as a vacation destination, however if I have the opportunity to go back for business I would just to enjoy the culinary delights.

The owners should consider doing some upgrades and train personal on customer service.

I marked terrible for fitness center and room service as there was neither.

Room Tip: Business associates rented a 3 floor townhouse and it was beautiful. Some rooms in the cottages have...

I have stayed at the Inn several times and each time has been perfect. The setting enforces relaxation. Its beautiful and the rooms are charming and clean. Afternoon tea is a nice offering and the breakfast is wonderful. The pool areas are great and they offer a family pool and child free pool which i think is a good idea. Its lovely to walk around the grounds, sit by the pool, have afternoon tea, sleep in a comfortable bed and wake up to a great breakfast.
the staff are always pleasant and nice and the check in and check out process is smooth.
I love this place and for the last few years have made it an annual birthday retreat. And I cant wait to go again this year.

Room Tip: MH room 7 is a great lower cost alternative - it does open onto the porch but I felt secure staying...

I'll start with the good- the restaurants are wonderful. we loved the Hil and Blue Eyed Daisy. The staff at both places are so nice - and that also includes every shop we went into. We did love our stay- we walked around everywhere and looked at the houses. The bad.. we stayed at Loft 13, and I felt for the condition that it was in, it was overpriced. There are scuff marks everywhere ( 2 words- magic eraser), and we found hairs in the bathroom and on the towels in the closet ( eww). There were no toiletries, robes or a hair dryer, which really surprised me. There was a glass that had been used as an ashtray on the back deck and a wine glass on the front porch. Both areas had mildewy furniture. I have stayed in a cleaner hotel with better amenities in Mexico( that's right- Mexico).
I would want to go back to visit, but not sure if I'll stay again.

Room Tip: I have no idea.
