Our recent stay at the Amberley Suite Hotel was mixed at best, we chose the hotel because we had a coupon from the *green* coupon book and needed someplace to stay near Atlanta for the weekend.
The hotel looks very nice from the street, and the lobby has a certain faded elegance, but it doesn't extend down the halls into the guest rooms!
Our coupon promised a breakfast buffet, but all that was to be had was toast, cereal, weak coffee, juice and the like.
Our room while clean was in disrepair, and the TV had a howling noise on some of the cable channels. There was awful water stains on the ceiling.
There was trash in the hallways, and it littered the grounds. Much of the walkways were broken up cement.
I'm sure when Amberley was built it was very nice, there was even a menu for the cafe in the room, they used to serve prime rib, but not anymore!
I think the Amberley is on the verge of death, and we've promised ourselves that we won't stay there ever again, it's too painful to watch something that must have been quite nice in it's prime die.

I am a newlywed married for 2 months at the time of my stay. My husband and I decided to take a weekend getaway to Georgia. We booked this hotel online after visiting their website, which gave a very deceptive view of the actual hotel. Our room was suppose to be a kitchenette suite with a stove and refrigerator. The first room we were given the door was broken and would not open. When we finally received our room it was horrible. It had an awful smell, the television was very hard to see because it was quite out of date, and the room was not a kitchenette nor a suite. The entire hotel in general was like the "projects" and not a hotel. I would never stay or recommend anyone I cared about to book this place.

“High School Horror”

Really recommend that you DO NOT chose this hotel. The problems were too numerous to mention all of them, but some -- Dirty rooms, soiled bedding, all night parties going on and people trying to get into your room, open drinking all over the hotel, lack of any type of security or safety. The elevator stayed stuck, no air conditioning. Some rooms were not even equipped with toilet tissue or bedding. I had booked 13 rooms for a high school field trip several months in advance and the group was scattered all over the hotel (and this is a big, spread out hotel with three floors) security for these kids was out the window. I really suggest if your thinking about this hotel-- really think twice. The pictures and discription on the internet are very deceptive. The onny good thing about this hotel was the breakfast.

I was attending an event in the area, and this hotel was one of two affiliated with the event. I took a look at their website, thought it looked okay, and for the most part, the reviews were decent. And after a long week at work, I decided to go ahead and pay extra to get an upgraded room with a jacuzzi. The trouble started when we drove in the parking lot. My friend wouldn't even let me walk in by myself because so many guys were hanging out at the entrance (about 15). Upon entering, it still looked decent, but I had to wait an exceptionally long time to check in. I had booked on the hotel's website around lunchtime of the same day, but they had no record of my reservation. I ended up getting the last jacuzzi room, but of course it didn't work! But to their credit, when we called to complain, they apologized and said our room would be at the cheaper rate, but still! I would never have booked there in the first place had it not been for the jacuzzi! My friend went to get some ice and couldn't find any. He stopped by the front desk to ask where it was and was told they did not have any. I needed to iron my clothes the next morning and found the ironing board, but no iron! And it was one of the hardest beds I had ever slept on. Upon leaving the next morning, I knew had I seen the place in the light of day, I probably would not have ever checked in anyway. More people hanging out, litter all around, etc. There are just too many hotels/motels in the area to choose this place!

This is a good hotel going bad. The hotel room was large and clean. The staff were attentive. The problem with the hotel is there seem to be a lot of people who stay at the hotel on a long term basis. Although some of these people were friendly and helpful, some of them were rude and somewhat frightening. I went to the hotel with my mother and my daughter who is 26. Young men hung out together in the parking lot, and strolled together in the hotel. They would make inappropriate remarks to my daughter, making us feel uncomfortable. The breakfast buffet was unusually good, but some of the young men would talk to hotel guests about what it was like being in a gang (the violence). They made it sound like they were happy about their gang activity. One elevator didn't work, the other smelled like pee. Light bulbs had been taken from our lights, and batteries were gone from the remote. This made us think they had a problem with people stealing from the rooms. We stayed at the hotel because of the price, but this is also attracting a low level of clientele. As nice as our room was, I would advice staying at this hotel with caution.
