“Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

We had our youth sports team stay here. Queen double beds were perfect. Breakfast was excellent. The manager on duty made the waffles to help speed the process up-"great service"!
Hidden away from noisy traffic.

Room Tip: Breakfast & space......No laundry facility, but may use the hotel next door.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

For spring break 2013, we had promised our children that we would take at least a short vacation. However, an unexpected removal of my gallbladder made this vacation much shorter than expected, requiring us to wait several more days so that Mom could walk without saying, "Ugh." Thankfully, we were able to reserve a two-night stay at the Hampton Inn of Norcross, Georgia at $69.99 on Thursday night and $89.99 on Friday night. However, the convenience of shopping was enjoyed as much as the low-cost of a great hotel stay.

We were greeted by two professional and friendly front desk clerks. When it was determined that a metal luggage carrier was not available, one of the clerks found one and brought it to us. This really helped my husband and children who were trying to only let Mom carry the car keys and room cards. And, these room cards became the only way in and out of certain doors, including always-locked side doors and the door to the indoor pool.

Once in our room, we discovered that we were located on the floor of where the indoor pool was located. I was especially thankful that we did not have to walk outdoors in cold weather to the indoor pool. The indoor pool was well-heated and larger than most indoor pools. The pool area was well-kept and well-stocked with pool towels. My husband is very particular about the appropriate amount of chlorine in and cleanliness of a pool, and he could not have been more satisfied. Although the indoor pool hours are 8 AM - 10 PM, I do not keep time while on vacation, until I have to pay attention to check-out time. If the hotel staff wants everyone to leave the pool by 10 PM, they should keep a well-maintained, large analog clock on one of the walls in this area.

We were very pleased with the cleanliness and features of our standard room. Instead of a small table and chairs, a desk with an office chair was provided. My husband is a tall, buff man who expects at least an average bathtub size, and the bathtub was at least a standard size. However, he also likes strong water pressure, but did not have a strong water pressure from this shower head, even though we both appreciated the not-so-scalding-hot water that ensured our children could control their own shower water without us being concerned about possible water burns. The trifold mirror in the bathroom provided more opportunity for more than one of us to use the mirror space at the same time. Also, the floor space was a bit larger than most bathrooms of standard rooms. As with all Hampton Inns we have stayed at thus far, the sheets were clean without stains, duvets cleaned before our stay, beds were very comfortable, and an extra pillow was provided for each bed. There was a 32'' flat screen television with cable access as well as a free Wi-Fi connection. There was plenty of storage space and the cleaning staff did a thorough job with keeping the room very clean as expected.

And, now I will not just write that the breakfast was "good", had a "nice variety", or something else so general that it leaves you browsing at least several other reviews just to find out what in the world does "free breakfast" mean........Hampton Inn of Norcross has the largest eating area of any hotel we have ever stayed at. The furniture is comfortable and well-kept, and the staff members frequently wipe-off tables between each use. There is actually a staff member walking around and speaking into a headset to relay to the person in the kitchen about what is lacking with specific breakfast items. However, breakfast is promptly concluded at 10 AM.

We did notice, however, that there is more than one breakfast menu, or at least a special Saturday breakfast. On Friday morning, the ready-hot food items were cheese omelettes and French toast sticks. On Saturday morning, the ready-hot food items were scrambled eggs, buttermilk biscuits, and sausage gravy. My husband also noted that Friday morning there was one waffle maker, but on Saturday, there were two waffle makers.

Otherwise, the list of available food items remained the same:
variety of individually boxed cereals for children and adults
premade oatmeal with sugar mix, slivered nuts, and raisin blend options
better-than-average fruit cocktail
whole apples and bananas
various breads, muffins, and pastries
pre-made waffle mix
variety of yogurts, including Greek
orange, cranberry, and apple juices
skim and 2% milk
iced water
packages of instant cocoa, grits, and teas
decaffienated, caffienated, and robust coffees
variety of coffee creamer and sugar, such as Splenda and pure sugar
great variety of individually-packaged breakfast condiments, including sugar-free
a microwave and a toaster for cooking
better-than-average availability of paper goods, including to-go coffee items

We have definitely found our "go to" hotel chain after this superb visit!!!!

Room Tip: If you want to be close to the indoor pool, ask for a room on the first floor.

Spent two nights at this hotel over March 8th and 9th. The area is very nice, lots of places to eat, and seems very safe. We got a great rate at this hotel which had Directv and a really good hot breakfast. The room was very clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel, even though it is a longer drive to the city. For me, I would rather stay in a nicer area anyway. This hotel was hidden away off of the road and was quiet and woodsy. It was excellent.

I stayed in this hotel because I visited Atlanta to attend an evening event.Due to expected snow fall it was not safe to drive back home. The stay was excellent and clean. The pool had warm water and fitness center was excellent. The coffee was better than Starbucks and complementary breakfast was nice and warm and internet was fast. There may be some more varieties/items could be added in break fast. The bed was clean and bathroom was clean. I missed an extra soap either for bathroom or wash basin. I think there should be three soaps in bathroom or 2 soaps and a body wash.

I think this hotel is reasonably good to stay if you visit Norcross, Atlana. I got a good deal due to AAA discount also. I recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: rooms on 5th floor are quieter and sunny.

Stayed here while attending technical training in the area. The room was very clean and set up well. Great breakfast everyday open nice and early. To my suprise there was a managers complimentary happy hour on Tues. and Weds. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I would definitely make this hotel my first choice when visiting the area again.

We booked here to save a little money on a recent business trip and were prepared for a mediocre to average experience. But this hotel really surpassed our expectations. The decor was tasteful. It was clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff were very friendly. The continental breakfast was decent and the common facilities - pool and exercise room - were clean and well maintained. Honestly, I did not expect to be so impressed by this very economical hotel. If we ever find ourselves in looking for a place in Atlanta again, this hotel will be at the top of our short list.

I travel on business frequently and try to stay as close to the business as possible. I have stayed at many Hampton Inns and was pleasantly surprised when I walked in at how lovely the lobby was. It was decorated with many high top tables to use your laptop (free wifi) curtains, lighting and large wide screen tv. It was beautiful. It also had an indoor pool, jacuzzi and fitness center. The room was lovely also. It had a large armchair, armoire, flat screen and wonderful bed. Breakfast was more than the standard continental servings. The price was much less than I expected also. This will be my go to hotel when I'm back in this area.
