“Overall it was ok!”

La Quinta Inn Norcross

Sep 2, 2007

I must say the overall stay was ok...(however, I like the Laquinta Inn in Conyers, GA better) I made my reservation on the internet; and was pleased to see they had a weekend deal for $59.00. Unfortunately, they only had smoking rooms available.. (not sure if that's what they offer on special or not) But, the staff was very nice and friendly. The room of course had a smokers odor, and the bathroom had an old mildew odor, ( I carry my own lysol spray, so that little problem was solved). The toilet took awhile to quite down after flushes. The hotel also has a loby computer but the printer was down and i couldn't print out my directions...
another minor thing. So even after all of that, I would still go back again.. I mean you can't beat the price for the area. especially, since those little details could be overlooked.

Booked directly at 1-800 number and requested rollaway. Was told had rollaway, but upon check-in said they did not have rollaway. Hotel staff very nice and gave us good discount on renting 2 rooms. Rooms very spacious and clean. All staff very friendly. Breakfast was great with full hot meal each morning with variety. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

I just got back from a three night stay at the LaQuinta Inn in Norcross. I got a weekend special rate from LaQuinta.com for $49 a night! I usually stay at LaQuinta Inns because we take our dogs with us whenever we travel and all LaQuintas accept dogs. Out of all of the LaQuintas I have stayed at, I think this might have been the best experience.
First, the area isn't really the greatest, but it isn't bad. It's right off of Jimmy Carter Blvd., but it's kind of back in a business park type area. It's near the highway but the hotel is quiet. It's very convenient to the highways (85/285) and there is decent eating around (Pappadeaux, The Varsity, Hooters, Jocks and Jills).
Inside, the hotel is amazing, for the price. It must have been recently renovated, completely. The decor is very nice and it's clean. The rooms are pretty standard hotel rooms, but some have balconies. The bed is pretty standard for a budget hotel, not amazing but not a brick. The showers worked well, but honestly could have been a little hotter. I did not swim in the pool, but the area surrounding the pool was very nice. They also had a couple computers for guest use if you didn't bring your own to take advantage of the free wireless internet.
There is a very nice free breakfast every morning. They had a couple hot dishes like scrambled eggs, sausage patties, grits and mini-biscuits and gravy. They also had danishes, donuts, bagels, toast, yogurt, apple and orange juice, fruit, milk and coffee. LaQuinta Inns usually serve a sufficient free breakfast and this was one of the better ones I have seen, even if they didn't have the waffle maker that many LaQuinta Inns have.
Overall, I give it a 5/5 for the price. It's not a five star hotel, but certainly the best $49 hotel I've ever stayed in. It's convenient to getting around the Atlanta area and kept up nicely inside.

“An insulting experience which almost ruined my Honeymoon!”

I first stayed here on Memorial Day Weekend, 2003 when it was known as the ClubHouse Inn. It was absolutely perfect then for the value at around $105 a night. It had an indoor hot tub, outdoor pool and exercise room. I had a nice, comfortable King Size bed, plenty of cable channels, and an outstanding breakfast buffet that you could enjoy IN YOUR ROOM. Orange Juice, Sausage, Bacon, Eggs, Grits and Pancakes for no extra charge that was cooked on site. It was awesome!

Fast Forward to my Honeymoon, March 2006....

New Ownership, now as the La Quinta Inn. Not a problem, I thought, as long as the experience was the same. IT WAS NOT!

First off, the indoor hot tub was removed. It's gone! The pool was covered up and inaccessible. The cable was down to 15 channels, from the previous 50 or 60.

The breakfast buffet was a shell of itself, and now the management charged you $6 per plate to take the food to eat in the privacy of your room. I totally lost my appetite at this, and went out to eat at the local IHOP upon checkout.

But the kicker was this: Behind the "service" desk, was a computer monitor with views of every hallway, indoor and out, in plain view of the patrons. Normally I wouldn't have blinked at this, but this surveillance system FOLLOWS you whereever you walk! Each camera window flashes when there is motion in the camera, allowing the managment to watch your every move as if you are in a state penitentiary! This absoulutely compromises any comfort you could hope to have without the feeling of being watched.

Do not go to this hotel. If you stayed here before when it was the Clubhouse Inn, it's a pay-to-stay prison now. This experience really hampered what was supposed to be a wonderful experience with my new bride. Save your money, and tell your friends to STAY AWAY. Stay FAR away!

Hi. I just returned from a 3-night business stay at the La Quinta Inn Norcross in the northeast corner of greater Atlanta. I've stayed at several hotels in and around Atlanta over the last couple of years and have found this one to be particularly above average (though this was my first time at this hotel.)

Here are a couple of the highlights:
1) good location for doing business in the northeast metro-Atlanta area (I had meetings in Canton, Athens, and Decatur)
2) quiet business park style area
3) very good price (I paid $59/night plus tax)
4) big room with desk, king bed, free wireless, nice free breakfast
5) good TV with 4 HBO channels
6) easy access to the I-75

The low points:
1) Poor flushing toilets (hold the trigger for a while and it will all work out)
2) a few noisy neighbors in the hall (not the hotel's fault I guess)
3) not particularly close to downtown, though this wasn't a problem for me. I guess you could get downtown in <30 minutes depending on traffic.

Good luck in your hotel search,

Dan
