It would be like me, and American citizen, opening up a Taco shop in Afghanistan. Why does this restaurant advertise Argentinian food on their signs when the owner is from uruguay and his wife and co-owner from peru? Because think of a sign saying "Uruguayan food" it would sound like u could get a plate of snail crap for 50 bucks.
I am from Argentina, and I can tell you this place has nothing more than a few products from Argentina, everything else is imported from uruguay.
The chimichurri, an Argentinean sauce for asado, that they offer is nothing more than pizza condiment with vinegar added, which is NOTHING like the ORIGINAL chimichurri from Argentina.
Prices: AWEFUL
They stick you with a 15% "gratuity" charge whether you're paying cash or not over the already unnecesarily astronomical prices, but only when they feel like it. We got charged the 15% several times until I asked, and the girl, Andrea she said her name was, told me that they did that when they thought the customer would leave a small tip, or none at all.
We tried to keep going there just to give us a sense of home, but left empty handed with a sore behind, not being sure if the chairs were uncomfortable, or we had just been raped by the owner and their employees.
Don't expect to pay less than $80 for two people for something you can get for $10 at any fast food joint.
Service:
We only had two waitresses which treated us fairly, and did not charge us the 15%, one was a beautiful girl from Argentina, her name was flabia and another from uruguay, her name was viky.
But this Andrea girl, the wife of the owner and several more employees seemed like they were bothered every time we asked for anything.
Also, I don't know much about legalities, but this business only has an "OFF PREMISES" alcohol license, which from what I read means selling of alcohol at catering events, not for in premises consumption.
I looked them up after our waitress told us to wait until someone with an alcohol license could bring us the wine because they thought someone from alcohol and tobacco enforcement was present in the restaurant... she even pointed him out to us.
SHADY OPERATION:
This proved to us only one thing, the owners here are running a shady operation and they should be investigated at once. I have already made some necessary calls because one can't help but to feel you're getting robbed as soon as you open the front door.
