“Stunning hotel and spa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013 via mobile

We stayed here for a weekend and from the moment of arrival we were welcomed warmly and shown to our room. The room was beautiful with stunning views of the lakes, we went to the spa which really was amazing and so relaxing and peaceful. Dinner was exceptional and the staff and service was one of the best I had ever experienced. After dinner there was a man playing piano at the bar and the whole evening was just so relaxing and enjoyable. It's a little bit out from killarney so you would need to organise a taxi we didn't leave the hotel all weekend as we lapped up the luxury around us. Looking very forward to going down again it's a ten out of ten for me. Keep up the good work and excellent standard.

From the moment we arrived we had a wonderful evening. We were well attended to in every respect and unlike some restaurants aspiring to this standard, we were offered a truly five star service.

The staff were warm and welcoming and made thoughtful recommendations on dishes and wine which was very much appreciated. Nothing was too much trouble.

We moved out from the dining room to the lounge area for our dessert and coffee course and truly enjoyed the 'Chocolate Symphony', as recommended to us. Overall the new menu surpassed our expectations - the food was fabulous!

We enjoyed the rest of our evening with good company and beautiful views overlooking the lakes and stayed relaxing far longer than intended due to the lovely atmosphere!

30 Years ago I was with a group of friends - staying in a tent in Fossa - when we discovered a little known view of Killarney's lakes from the vantage point if Aghadoe. There was a hotel nearby which was reputed to be a bolt hole for millionaires and their ilk but I did wonder what it would be like to get to stay in one of the rooms that would enjoy that view every hour of the day

Anytime I have had the chance I have brought and sent friends to see the delights of this view and my wife was introduced to Aghadoe when we first started going out together.

We decided to book the Aghadoe Heights Hotel for our wedding anniversary and told the reservations girl - Aine - of our love of the beautiful view from Aghadoe and how much we felt we would enjoy the hotel

We booked a lake view room (of course) for two nights B & B with dinner in one evening.

We drove to Killarney in high anticipation and upon checking in Aine introduced herself and told us she had upgraded us to a Lake View Suite !!! No extra charge !!!

Wow - a fantastic surprise which was only bettered by the room itself which was enormous and had two huge windows looking across at our favourite view !!

The food staff and service were fantastic - the hotel works very hard to provide guests with a memorable stay and all staff are warm and friendly.

Even if we had missed out on the the suite; the regular rooms looked beautiful too and would not make anyone feel deprived during a lovely stay

Book now for your next trip - for us the reality of staying in the Aghadoe Heights Hotel was better than the dream.

Myslef and my wife of one week went here for a night to relax and chill out as a treat. As we arrived up to the hotel it did not look great to be honest ( but dont judge a book by its cover) When we stepped in through the door it was a totally different look and feel. ON checking in we were told that they upgraded us to a garden view suite instead of a room. The suite was amazing. The views from the Hotel are absolutely breath taking. We went to the thermal suite in the spa. Be warned!!! if you go to the thermal wuite you will come out of it totally relaxed....... ;-) It was just what i needed. Yes this is me talking not the wife ;-) Men also loves the thermal suites but we dont like to admit it ;-)
The staff are brilliant and attentive and are not intrusive. I must admit that the whole 5 star thing is not to my taste fully. As i can carry my own bag and our my own tea ect. ect. But the staff made me feel welcome and also the more upper class people who like that sort of thing ( or expect it ).
I cannot say any negative about this hotel bar i wish i could afford it more aften rather than just a treat. Oh by the way did i say the views are out of this world.

Room Tip: just enjoy it and treat yourself. Definetly go to the thermal suite area.

This hotel with it,s professionalism ,from door entry to exit is exemplary for irish hotels .

Only warning to everyone is as you drive up to it , don,t be put off by the appearance of it on the outside as it,s not the most attractive building . But the external structure does not matter when internally you have the views of Killarney lower lake and Ross castle as you sit in dining room for breakfast /dinner and lounge area for afternoon tea and drinlks pre -post meals .The staff were so professional and not in your face , perfect balance .Food was 5 star , Spa deserves all its national accolades .Of course the lake view rooms are the ones to get but the garden rooms are also of same standard without the view , but remember the lounge upstairs is availiable to everyone and it boasts the largest postcard view windows you will meet .

Have no hesitation in giving this hotel a sincere 5 Star Rating.

Room Tip: Lake view if you,re lucky

We recently stayed three nights at the end of July and had the finest of times. It is a lovely hotel and we were given a lake view suite which had all the modern comforts you could ask for. when you come back to your room after an amazing meal in the restaurant, you see the moonlight bouncing off the lake in front of you. We met David the Manager who could not have done more for us and been more helpful. The bar staff too were like old friends by the time we reluctantly had to leave. A brilliant, relaxing time in a peaceful and fantastic hotel. The breakfasts too are of the highest standard. You feel like you are stepping out of a hectic pace into one of great bliss and relaxation.
