My Uncle and Aunt stayed at Traveler's Rest for 5 days and I visited them for breakfast. They were only staying one night, but it quickly became two, three etc. Adele, the Innkeeper, is one of the reasons as she is so friendly, but the service is 5 stars as well. I grew up visiting this home while a kid in Montezuma, Georgia and was astonished at what had been done. I used to shoot pool upstairs in the Victorian room next to the Civil War room. All the rooms have themes and are decorated beautifully and I plan on staying in the "carriage house" African Room just behind the house for my next visit. The other room in the main house is the Garden Room, but all are roomy and gorgeous. The beds are so comfortable and the house so inviting it will be better than the couch at my Mom and Dad's! Oh, and the full breakfast and conversation with South African native Adele is worth the price of the room. It is a wonderful way to start your day! You have many places to visit from antiquing on the Andersonville Trail, visiting historic Civil War Andersonville itself and walking the Civil War grounds will give you chills up the spine. Andersonville now has a museum for all US wars and should be a definite stop on your trip. You an also make the short trip to see Jimmy Carter's home and see him at church. I have been to bed and breakfasts all over the world and this one really stands out. If you are looking for a quiet place away from the city with many amenities this is the place for you to relax and unwind. Please look at the other reviews as well since they had a similar experience as my Aunt/Uncle and me. It is also a pet friendly B & B and received the 2005 Award for best pet friendly Bed & Breakfast in the United States. She will look after your pet while you are exploring! Book it, enjoy it, you will not be disappointed.
