First off, unless a hotel advertises themself as "5 star" I never rate that high. That said, I wanted to rate this hotel higher than 2 but somehow cannot. I thought about giving it a 3, but after I wrote my review, it really didn't live up! Maybe it was because I didn't sleep well - but others in my party did. This was the first of two Comfort Inn hotels we stayed in on this trip, and I had a surprisingly similar experience with both. We had two rooms, and the heat/air conditioner in my room was loud. I am sensitive to night noise, so would have preferred a quieter unit (like it was in my parents room – so lucky for them, but hate when a hotel maintains hit-and-miss conveniences). The bed wasn't necessarily uncomfortable, but not new. Whatever they use to clean the room with had a very strong smell, to both my husband and I. Clean is good but not if you can't stand the lingering scent. We had a dog, and there were adequate grassy areas to curb a pet. The breakfast was nice, with egg products, sausage and make-yourself waffles, but the staff on duty wasn’t very attentive. The night staff who checked us in was very nice. However, the reservation clerk who processed our reservation did not mark us for adjoining rooms, so that had to be fixed. Plus, I had gotten a rate on-line, but called to reserve because of our pet. One of our rooms they said couldn’t be at the on-line price, and I still don’t understand why. The location is not right next to I-75, so road noise wasn't too much of a problem – but watch out for the local drivers! Trying to get to dinner, we almost got hit, twice! The road the hotel is on is crazy busy, and not the easiest to navigate. Again, I wanted to like this hotel better, but we paid more than we usually might have preferred, so I guess I expected a little more.
With pets, we always request a ground level room.
