“Another good job by Hampton Inn”

Hampton Inn & Suites Atlanta-West Six Flags

Oct 20, 2006

I stayed one night at this hotel for work, and was told that it had been open nine weeks when I checked in. It felt new and modern. It was extremely clean, spacious, and full of happy and friendly staff. I had no troubles at all: check-in was fast and efficient, breakfast will fully served and available, the room was completely furnished and very clean.

I had a room with two beds and there was enough extra room for me to do my floor exercises. The TV had a flat screen and was not inside a cabinet, so it was visible from anywhere in the room. The internet connection (wireless) never gave me any problems.

I've stayed at six hotels in this area and this is by far my favorite and the one I will return to.

First of all I would like to say to who ever is willing to give this hotel a chance then please do so! This hotel is great! Yes we also had problems with our room reservation but we became a better room for one night with out having to ask! We stayed here at the end of August and I must say this because I feel that some people should stop exagerating about stuff. First of all the pool is big enough for atleast 20 people and I am not over doing this. Second of all the rooms are just great and they offer Smoking rooms and you do not hear anything from your neighboring rooms around you! Yes the breakfast is small but if you are out for a real breakfast then go 2 minutes down the road to the Waffle house or to the International house of pancakes or to Burger king or to Shoneys should I keep going? There are all types of restaurants just down the street from this hotel! From fancy to cheap. The personel in the hotel are very nice and they try there best to make all your wishes happen, and even if you are a little uptight they still stay proper and do not ignore you! The prices are just great if you compare this to other hotels in this area. So we can only tell you again it is worth the time to wait for a minute or two to stay here!

    • Disliked — actually there was nothing that bothered us!
    • Tips/Secrets: — If your a smoker then please order your room in advance and call there to make sure that it is availible because they only have a few of them.

Please don't stay here, they don't have their act together yet. I don't know why they opened this hotel, but they were not ready yet to receive guests. I booked directly with the manager, I asked for adjoining rooms and to have a crib for our room. We arrived on a Sunday evening around 5:45pm, it took the front desk about 45 minutes to check us in. They were so unorganized it was ridiculous. The woman working the front desk was perfectly nice, she just didn't know what rooms were adjoining, they were running all over the hotel looking for themselves. When we finally got into our rooms, they were missing some furniture. One room didn' t have a desk yet, it simply had lamps and phones sitting on the floor. The furniture still had all the tags on them. The other room seemed very hot, so we cranked the air down and went to dinner. While we were walking out we asked the front desk to deliver the crib while we were gone. We came back about an hour and a half later, no crib in our room. They didn't have any in the whole hotel, they had sent someone out to buy one. Finally about an hour later they brought the crib, only for us to realize that the adjoining room to ours was not getting any cooler, the air conditioner was broken. They didn't have any more adjoining rooms to offer us, so we had to accept a room across the hall. We have four children ages 1 to 6, so I had to stay with two of them, and my husband had to stay with two of them. Highly annoying. The breakfast in the mornings were not fabulous either. They ran out of milk, so we couldn't offer cereal to our kids. The hot items were really cold. The following day they were supposed to have eggs, but the platter was empty. It was just a horrible experience overall. The pool is very small and right outside the front door of the hotel. I would have thought that they would have voluntarily offered us a discount on our room rate, but of-course i was naively mistaken. It wasn't even worth it to try and demand one, I just wanted to get out of there. There are also no nice restaurants anywhere near this hotel, there's a Cracker Barrel, and a Shoney's. The hotel overlooks a Toyota dealership. I will say that the beds were comfortable, and the linens were nice. The decor was fine, especially a king bedroom.
