“Save the Game Ranch”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2014

The Game Ranch has really gone down hill since I was a kid but my son (2 years old) still loved it. Please continue going to visit these animals. They need your support. The laws have changed and the deer no longer roam free but you still get to hand feed through a fence. The squirrels eat out of your hand and there are goats, sheep, pigs, donkeys, etc. I'm sure with continued support or any donations, this little gem could come back to life and be the fun place we all remember as kids.

“If you want to see wildlife, go to the Zoo”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2014 via mobile

I haven't been to the ranch in over eight years. And, boy, has it changed. The best thing is the price. We spent $20 for two adults, a toddler, and snacks for the animals. Before you go, make sure you bring walking shoes, a durable stroller (if you have little ones), bug spray, and hand sanitizer.

The good: you can see peacocks walking around freely. The deer and the ducks were nice. It is wide open and rustic. You can see General Lee's abode. The farm that houses the donkeys, alpacas, rams, sheep, and goats is a nice area. The pigs are even roaming around.

The bad: Some of the animals look sad. The bear enclosure was the most disgusting. It looked old and run down. Same as the coyote exhibit. If you are going for the rabbit enclosure, don't go. They are not there. Outside of the farm, there is nothing to do or see. You are basically walking around for nothing.

The ugly - the hand washing stations/hand sanitizer. I totally get that it is all outside. That still doesn't excuse it from looking dirty and old and unsanitary.

Bottom line - don't go. The zoo is a little more expensive, but worth it.

“Don't waste your time”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2014

Even though it has been about 5 years since our last visit, I never expected any place to go as far downhill as this place has. We are always excited about taking our grandkids to Yellow River Game Ranch for a great afternoon. This time I wish we had not built it up so much to our 4 & 6 year olds based on previous experiences. It was about as run down as any place could become. Far fewer animals than before and now all the deer (what they have left) are behind fences. The rabbit habitat was closed “for maintenance”. Really not sure what maintenance is done on rocks and dirt. It looked just like it always has except absolutely no rabbits in sight. You always expect a petting zoo to be dirty, that’s just the nature of the business, but, this place is now taking it to a whole new level. Don’t waste your money or time.
One good note: the staffers were very nice and friendly.

“Things Have Really Changed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

We used to live visiting Yellow River. Todays visit was very disappointing. The place is going down hill quickly. Half of enclosures are empty. Bunny habitat says it is under construction but looks like they have shut it down. Unless things change we will not be back. Save your money.

“Yellow River Game Ranch”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

I took my grand-kids to the Yellow River Game Ranch so they could see and get close to some of the animals. The place has really gone down hill and is in bad need of repair. The conditions the animals live in was really depressing. I do not recommend visiting this depressing site.
