“Awesome food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2014

Took a leisurely back roads motorcycle ride from north of Atlanta to Lavonia on a Sunday morning, just to eat at Gumlog Barbeque and Fish Lodge. And it was well worth the trip! Best hush puppies ever! They're made the way they should be, crescent shaped, crispy all the way through. The catfish was wonderful, nice and crispy around the edges. Cole slaw homemade and excellent. Butterfly shrimp, large and juicy. Our friends with us ordered the beef brisket, which once it sells out for the day, there's no more. They loved it. Gallon of sweet tea right on your table with a bowl of crushed ice, so you can refill right when you need to. Everyone who works there is friendly and out going, excellent service. Our order got to our table quickly. It's definitely off the beaten path, but I can't wait to take my sons and their wives there to eat!

“Great seafood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

If you like fried seafood this is a must visit. Open on weekends and sometimes the wait can be long. Food is always hot and served quickly.

“Family BBQ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2014

10 of us came in after a day at the lake. This is a "good ol', down home" BBQ/Fish House. It isn't fancy by any means, but service was good, and the servings were plentiful. Get there before 530 because there will be a line! Cost for the 10 of us was about $11/each. Not unreasonable for catfish, shrimp, brisket, bbq chicken, bbq pork, and ribs. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here but I would stop if we were in the area.

“Fried Fish, BBQ with all the fix'ns”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2014

Great place to eat after a day on Lake Hartwell if you are in the Lavonia / Martin area. Family run, homey decor, great fried fish (good selection of different types of fish, but the catfish is the best!), varied menu including burgers and chicken along with BBQ. Lines can be long and is only open on weekends, but worth it!!
