“Old and Dirty”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012

I agree with the reviews below as well! The age of a property is one thing but the cleanlyness is a whole other issue. I have stayed at several older propereties but thay were CLEAN which makes a huge difference. I can look past the old chipped furniture, chipped mirrors, cracked tiles, abd the torn wallpaper. But I cannot look past the foot prints on the headboard, the drool stains on the pillowcases, food stains on the blankets, and nasty orange build up on the shower head. I am going to have to clean this bathroom before I can actually shower! The management needs to be more involved in the inspection process before these rooms are approved for check in. I too wonder what part the days in brand plays in the quality of these locations.

The place is old. It needs a full on remodel. It is conveniently located right off the interstate. Next door is a defunct truck stop, which creates a lot of noise, as it is used as a free parking lot by truckers 24/7. (Recommend you rent rooms on the opposite side of the hotel, as they are much quieter.)
The owner and staff try. They try hard to keep the old hotel up and running. The maid staff are nice, and try hard to keep the older carpets and furniture clean.
The pool area is quite clean and well maintained.
Age is the issue at this hotel.
The owner, and staff are nice and easy to deal with.
The free breakfast is typical, with a lot of bread. Danishes, cinnamon rolls, bagels, wheat and white bread to toast. Instant grits, and instant oatmeal of multiple flavors, raisin bran, and frosted flakes round out the breakfast. OJ, apple juice and coffee are provided. No protein, like meats, are provided. Breakfast area is clean.
Again, were it not for the staff, I would not recommend the stay. However, they are nice, kind, and helpful.
I hope the hotel gets a well deserved and needed update soon.

Room Tip: Ask for the trucker's discount. Ask for the rooms on the side away from the closed truck stop.

This room was GROSS!! 312 @ 2606 Whitesville Road Lagrange,GA. 30240.

We were not intending to have to stay @ a hotel. When plans did not go accordingly we had to look for a place to stay over night. We were in GA. going to wild safari (pine mountain).
We grabbed a hotel coupon book from a gas station newspaper box. the coupon book had a days inn location (supposedly) on the street near the safari reported 185S. exit 42 which was our exit to safari. after not locating it locals sent us an exit back to Lagrange. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and accomidating.
On the other hand the room was definitley gross. We were very tired ,unloaded family and gear ,put up food and got ready to get showers b-4 sleep. OMG! bathtub full of mold, under and around nonskid mat in tub. so..... we had to put towel down over mat to shower. This was way more awful for me because my 6 n 2 yr olds had to use the tub this way. the batroom corners were full of crud and nasty black. the room was full of spider webs and
my husband woke with 2 spider bites. we were not informed that we needed to plug up the refridgearator so we woke to spoiled food in the morning, getting up with bare feet in the night realized the floor between beds was wet. Thought after we turned a.c. that maybe smell would go away. We thought room may not have been occupied in awhile. We were WRONG!
Smell stayed and found in morning that rooms 120 -124 (at least) were a mess (from apparent flooding) and were trying to be dried out.
I feel apparently alot of the rooms had been flooded and tried to be dried out. The ones not having major damage still rentd to travelers.
I would have asked for a comp. on the room but honestly just wanted out of there. Also i knew i would NOT stay there again. On other hand i may would use a room in my home town but would inspect before unloading! oh and p.s. full of ants .i guess due to the water damage. Days Inn should do better job who they let franchize under their name.

Room Tip: when taking a sparatic trip try to locate a place before you are at the have to point.i didn't h...

I have stayed at Days Inn before, but not this one. Honestly, I am very disappointed. My fiance and I stayed there for three nights and thank god we had a room with two beds. One of the beds sheets were full of hair from what looks like both humans and animals. The sheets on the bed that didn't have hair in it were stained, you could tell they hadn't been washed because we actually found a dime stuck to my fiance's arm after he had been laying on it watching TV for a while. The pillows were chunky, as in the stuffing was in chunks and you can tell that obviously they were not well taken care of. The carpet was frayed and the wallpaper was falling off of the wall. In the bathroom there was urine on the toilet seat and there was what looked like pubic hair stuck to the floor of the shower. The furniture was nice, the bed was comfortable apart from the nasty linens, however the inside of the fridge is stained, it looked pretty gross. We tried the breakfast, it was the simple cereal bagel muffin deal, however the room that had it in was clean. The cleaning staff were really loud outside during the day, and the truck stop next door was awfully loud as well, even at night. If a refund had been available we would have left and went to another hotel.

This was the worst experience of any hotel I have ever had. I utilize hotels for about 70-80 nights per year. Te accommodations were over priced for the quality, hotel was dirty, the staff was rude and very unhelpful! No key to the room we were left out in the cold more than once...very bad all around!

I read previous reviews and I have to agree. This place is run-down and nasty. The carpet is the kind that you don't dare place your foot down without socks. We found a penny on the bed spread before we set down our luggage...so what does that tell you? The bed spread is not replaced from the previous occupant and goodness knows what other creepy crawlies could be on that thing microscopically. Hair on the bathroom floor, AC unit loud and without a lever vent to direct flow of air (although it did crank out the cold air eventually). The coffee pot worked but the toilet constantly ran because of hardware issues and the irony is that they have signs all over the room to "save on resources" (water, towels) when they themselves don't have their maintenance together to fix the water flow on the toilet while we are not even in there. Creepy check-in owner guy...we never did want to connect to the free Internet as he did not give us a security code to do so. And if you don't get a code, anyone from the hotel can hack into your accounts if you use their service. Alarm clock was flashing as though there was a power outage. Ceiling was peeling from water damage from the 2nd floor above. Find a rest area coupon book and knock off $10 but don't expect a lot out of this. Furniture beat up too. VERY SAD continental breakfast. Times are tough in La Grange (they have a lot of nice girls up there, ZZ Top says, but that is the extent of it.) Good luck travelers. Go somewhere else.

We stayed in The Days Inn for the better part of the week and found the staff very attentive and the accomodations pleasant. Much effort has been put in to upgrading the facilities and given time will measure up to a five star rating.
