“Just okay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2014

A group of 5 went to Seajay's for early supper and ordered a variety of dishes. My usual favorite is crab cakes and my tendency is to check them out when going to a new restaurant. Please don't order them at Seajay's! They seem to be mostly filler and cooked way beyond done. Almost had to cut with a knife. Those lucky enough to order fried shrimp were pleased and since they shared a couple, I would agree. My guess is that if what you want is fried seafood, it may be okay. Service was pleasant and accurate, although it took longer than anyone expected for such an early time. I'd say half full at best. Every thing on Jekyll is expensive so even though this is a casual sit down restaurant, I would not consider $$ in cost. It is more like $$$.

“Nice, unpretentious place with warmth and good food.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2014

Food selection was relatively standard, but copious and well made. Service is very friendly and made you feel good and at ease.

“Liked it so much went back twice”

And funky little place that makes down home southern cooking taste great. Has everything from burgers to fried shrimp. I just had to try the Lowcountry boil. It was simply great

“Weekday lunch”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2014

Came here for lunch since Driftwood Bistro and Latitude 31 were closed. Comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere. If bugs bother you, eat inside, though. Very friendly service. Be prepared to wait for your food, though, even when it's slow. Shrimp & grits were average, Shrimp basket was good, and the crab chowder and shrimp croissant sandwich were pretty good too. Also, be prepared to make friends with the squirrels because they are not shy

“Disappointed again!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2014

We visited last year and it was just ok. Service was poor, but we was with friends having a good time.
So we went back this year 2014 and it was worse.
The low country boil was mostly red potatoes. We passed. Food was fair at best. Would have had more drinks but they just ran out of the wine and Hennessey. Server forgot my salad so I asked for man n cheese....twice. it was cheap tasting. Slaw is one of the sides that you cant change and it is nasty. Taste like cabbage and generic mayo.
One man band was good but tooo loud! We could not talk. When the server brought the check she charged me for the salad I never got.

Overall poorly managed with a subpar menu and horrible service. This was my last trip!
