Description: The Jekyll Island Club Hotel Grand Dining Room continues to be the scene of social gatherings and gourmet experiences. Beautifully restored in the Victorian mode, the room is dominated by Ionic columns and gleaming white woodwork. Three handsome fireplaces, complete with intricately carved mantle pieces and marble surrounds, add warmth and cheer on a winter’s day. The lawns and the river can be seen through expansive windows, and the first blossoms of crepe myrtle and magnolia trees color the landscape in early spring. The glow of candlelight and piano music create an atmosphere of romance and anticipation of the gourmet meal to come. A cause celebre in Southern Georgia dining is the Grand Dining Room’s Sunday brunch, a culinary and visual delight. The last Sunday of most months boasts Sunday Dinner Dance with gourmet dining and ballroom dancing.

“High Tea...an experience to remember!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2012

Last year, during our visit to Jekyll Island, we decided to attend the afternoon High Tea at the Jekyll Island Hotel. We were blown away with the experience of delicious scones, array of finger sandwiches, desserts and wonderful varieties of teas. But, we especially enjoyed the service of the hostess Denice, who really made the experience very special and personable. So, during our visit to the island this year in November with family, I praised the high tea highly to them and insisted that we must go. But, alas....we found that Denice had retired the previous week. The scones were still there, but somehow, they seemed not quite of the same quality nor were the sandwiches and desserts. In addition, the water for the tea was only lukewarm. This was quickly changed to steaming hot water when it was brought to the attention of the hostess. The hostess was also attentive and accommodating to our needs. Overall, it was still a good experience and we will hopefully have the opportunity to attend next year as well.

“Nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

This place is very nice. You feel like your in the first class dining room of the Titanic! I liked it, but it is very expensive. Nice place to go on a date, but when you have a little one like I do, I was nervous about him making too much noise. Everyone is very friendly. We just might not go back due to the price. Check out the menus online before you go.

This is a wonderful place in a most wonderful area. I went there for having brunch on Sunday. Great food and drinks, excellent service all in historical atmosphere of last century.
It is a must if you are in that area.

“Wonderful dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

We purposefully had our last night's dinner here to end our vacation in a special way. And it was. Our server was very attentive yet gave us the space to enjoy the entire experience. The food was FABS. The pork tenderloin with a mustard medeira sauce was out of this world. Only wish they provided more on the plate! It was our best meal during the vacation (and we mostly ate on St Simons).
