“Interesting Place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

Even if you are not a turtle person this is an interesting place. They even have a surgery center and we were able to see a turtle being treated by the vet. There are many volunteers who will explain each display and answer questions. There is also a huge gift shop with some unique turtle items.

“Jekyll Island Tram Tour: an unexpected gem.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

We were not sure what we'd find on this very pleasant Georgia coastal island but we were delighted by the quality of the Tram Tour.
Our host, Mike, provided a wealth of detail and perspective on the fascinating history therein and did so in an entertaining and very humorous fashion.
Overall, superb value, we really appreciated it.

“How the other half lived!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

Just seeing the "cottages" that were built by the rich and famous from the 1890's - 1920's was interesting. Didn't pay for a tour but did walk around and to a look into the windows. Hard to believe the wealth that was on this island at one point.

“Worth the visit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

I've been to Jekyll Island a few times & always enjoy my time there. It is gorgeous & the historic district is filled with gorgeous homes, interesting history & a quaint stories. To think that this area was the summer home to the most powerful people in the US at the time makes for great food for thought.

If you are a walker, you can easily tour the historic area on foot over the course of a day. If you are a bike rider, bring it. You can easily tour the historic district, as well as the whole island in a weekend while enjoying the nature that abounds there. If you are an early riser, get up before the sun & take a stroll - you will encounter all sorts of critters!

Jekyll Island is a great place for families & couples.

“Gorgeous Tour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

Spent the morning touring the grounds of Jekyll Island State Park. Unfortunatly missed the trolley for the guided tour by mere minutes, but none the less made use of my time on the island. The Jekyll Island clubhouse and historic site is definatly a must see, in terms of how the " other half " lived at the turn of the century i.e. Rockefeller, Goodyear, J.P. Morgan.... grabbed lunch at the hotel, and wandered through the shady trees taking in the sites. $6 to get on the island , $19 for the tour... that would have been well worth it to hear even more history.
