This is the only campground on Jekyll Island. It is an old campground, a bit run down and very rustic but we love it here. The sites are all very shady with huge oak trees and most are fairly level, with full hook ups including cable and sewer. The wifi worked very well at our site, there were many connections to choose from depending on where you are in the campground. The laundry room was small but the machines worked and didn't cost too much. The roads are all dirt as well as the sites but that's what we like. We did not use the bath house but we looked in them and they were clean and appeared to be in good working order. The entire Island is golf-cart friendly and we drove ours everywhere we needed to go, just make sure they meet the specifications or you might get a ticket from the Georgia State Troopers that patrol the island. We stayed here in September and there were a few bugs but nothing that a little repellent couldn't handle. Our week here was great and we didn't want to leave and we will certainly go back again.

We have been camping here for a month or more in the fall of each of the last three years. We come from northern Wisconsin, and look forward to our time here to give us a bit more summer. It is a long way, but it is well worth it.

The facilities of the campground are what you would expect at a campground. There are trees, lots of them, giving us shade and helping with privacy. No, the road and the parking spaces are not paved--but this is one of the things we love. It is not just a parking lot!

The staff is warm and welcoming.
Between campers, they are meticulous in raking and preparing the site for the next campers. When you register upon arrival they are extremely helpful and make sure that you get set up and have no problems.
Also, multiple times each day you will see staff riding through the campground in their golf carts making sure that all is well.

This wonderful campground and the beauties and activities of Jekyll are a winning combination. Bring your bikes and bike some of the 20+ miles of bike paths. You have an advantage of being able to ride your bike through the beautifully maintained historic district where the cars are limited. Visit any of the many beaches each with a personality of its own. You will also realize that the whole island is different than most other island destinations. There are no high rises! No tall hotels and no traffic jams! The beaches often are fairly deserted.

We keep asking others about alternative places, but no one can come up with suggestions that could beat what we have found here. We'll be coming back.

It's not like you have a choice of several to pick from, it is the only campground on the island. So, we have a supply and demand situation in the campground's favor. Having said that, we have stayed here over five times and usually for a week at a time in our very comfortable mosquito free RV. The campground can be a mess if it rains. Your awning will be a mess from the leaves if it rains and the cleanup not fun. So, we leave the awning in, don't sit outside if the bugs wish to share our leisure, and we purchase a cheap carpet at Walmart that we will discard after out visit regardless of the weather. We spray all exterior lines and hoses with WD-40 to keep the ants out.
Then we enjoy the island. It is great for safe biking on the roads and the beach. We like to golf and there are four courses to choose form. We like to enjoy brunch at the Hotel and dinners at the various restaurants. We like to visit the village shops and take pictures all over the island. Then one day we head for St Simon to see how the 15 are doing. Overall, be prepared and make every day an opportunity to enjoy a very special place.

We camp here several times a year and absolutely love it. We have camped in a camper and tent and the atmosphere is great. The staff is very personable and friendly. One of our favorite spots. The bath houses are usually clean, no major issues, don't have an issue with the pets. The only real problem I have there is the mosquitoes. Make sure you bug spray before you step out of your camper or tent.

My family and I have stayed at this campground several times and each time, the staff are so friendly and helpful. In this past stay, late in the evening, we had issues with our power cord in our full hook up site. We called the campground host, and they quickly resolved our issue and lent us a piece to repair it. The location is phenomenal being so close to the beach, it is only a bike ride away. We will continue to come back to this campground, Now this is not a Resort by any means, it is a simple, rustic, peaceful and very calm campground. Perfect for the outdoor loving kids and family! We would highly recommend this campground.

So here's the deal....I wanted a quick beach vacation before the yougins started back to school. As a child I had many fond memories of Ji never at the campground but just on the island so I thought what a great place to take my kids and show them a little history... We arrived around 11pm to find no creatures starring not even a mouse I quickly filled out the form in the night box and started towards thesite that they picked out for me this place is dark at night and while I am a heck of a fifth wheel xamper pilot I had to enlist the help of my less experienced co-pilot/wife to help me swing my 30'slice of heaven into the black hole they called my camp site.after a few pull ups I got it in set up camp and went to bed the next day check in was a breeze and painless so about thecampground its self....disappointed just dirt and dust no gravel or paved surface anywhere it rained one day and you can imagine the mess that made so don't get me wrong I will go back all though not for long periods not much going on here to do other than the beach but then again isn't that the point... so go for a rustic visit to Georgias historical past just don't expect the usual modern conveniences of other campgrounds

If you have never been to Jekyll Island- go! And stay at the campground if you're able to. We stayed in full RV hook ups; it is a very quiet and pretty campground. The oaks throughout the campground are just amazingly beautiful. Great place for the kids to ride bikes or walk around exploring. They even have a little bird sanctuary where you can sit and enjoy the birds and butterflies. Staff are great upon check-in.
