We had an incredible weekend at Jekyll Island Club Hotel, taking advantage of the great winter rates for a romantic getaway. We had a king jacuzzi room in the San Souci building which was just lovely, so much history there & yet all of the modern amenities (well, except no elevator in that building, but that wasn't a problem for us). With unseasonably warm temperatures in the mid to upper 60's during the day & upper 40's/low 50's at night, it was perfect weather for biking the grounds/island (loved Driftwood Beach!) & just walking all over the property, including seeing Faith Chapel (check hours for when it is open). My husband kept saying how happy he was to be there, how unbelievably nice the hotel/property are & that we would definitely have to come back.
The staff spoiled us with great service & little treats delivered to our room which was so thoughtful. I felt drunk with the gorgeous sights & wonderful smells of the area which is resplendent with large mature live oaks with Spanish moss & river views and can't wait to go back to breathe in that relaxation again!
