“A two star hotel”

Days Inn & Suites Oceanside Hotel

Aug 15, 2008

I booked here because my husband wanted to be on the beach rather than at the Jekyll Island club (where I wanted to go). Like other reviewers said it is dated. My room was clean but the decor was very old. The couch looked like it dated back to the 70's along with the carpeting. The towels were so weird because I noticed they were not absorbent.

I did have a suite on the second floor which was very roomy. The front desk people (Muretta and Nikki) were very nice and helpful.

The breakfast was decent for a free breakfast. There were waffles, cereal, bagels, juices, bananas, oranges etc. The breakfast room was on the second floor and had a terrific view of the beach. The breakfast room was very spacious, unlike some I've been at where it feels like you are fighting to get food.

I was glad we were there for only one night.

The hotel was very average. The price was good, but the hotel was in major need of renovations. Things were falling off the walls and it looked like it had not been renovated in a while. The roll away bed was broken and we even found roaches in our room. We were promised an ocean view, but all we could see was sand dunes. I will not book with this hotel again.

    • Liked — The only thing that I liked was the accessibility to the beach
    • Disliked — The dis-repair and cleanliness of the room.

“great stay”

Days Inn & Suites Oceanside Hotel

Jun 24, 2008

I was going to stay overnight on a friends boat , but the airconditioner was broke ,so i went down to the Days Inn, there were 3 of us so i got a suite, it was a little over $200, but it was on a weekend and i just walked in without a reservation and was glad to get it.our room was very nice on the ground floor ,as you walk out the back door was the pool , we had 2 queen beds and a pull out couch in the living room. Very large bathroom, kitchee=nette, i was very pleased with the room and will stay there again. I don't understand all the bad reviews, it was not that way at all.

“Great Prices.”

Days Inn & Suites Oceanside Hotel

We made the reservations online at the Clarion Resort. But we left that hotel after going to the room. We got the money we paid and called Days Inn.

The lady at the front desk was very busy, but very friendly. She gave us an oceanfront room on the ground level for a great price. The Clarion was $90.00 and Days Inn was a lot cheaper, and better than the Clarion Resort.

The Days Inn has a beach, with sand, not rocks. That was great.
The prices were great, and the service was good.
The rooms were clean, and it has 2 big pools.
Free Beakfast, easy access to the beach, it is the best hotel for its price on Jekyll Island.

If you go to the Clarion, then to the Days Inn, you are not going to complain about this hotel.

“Quite Adequate for Our Family”

Days Inn & Suites Oceanside Hotel

3 of 5 stars
Warner Robins, Georgia
Jun 2, 2008

My family and I stayed at the Days Inn on Jekyll for a long weekend in Sept. 2007. As other reviewers have said, the hotel is dated. In fact, I remember staying in it a few times as a teenager with my own parents, before they renovated it.

We booked a one bedroom, oceanview suite with a pullout sofa in the living room for our daughter. The room was large and clean, with a kitchenette area that was useful. Our view of the ocean from our second floor balcony was beautiful. The free continental breakfast every morning was really good, with lots of options from scrambled eggs to waffles to cereal and toast.

The only "complaint" I had, if you want to call it that, is that I felt a little misled in booking the room. Admittedly, I booked it online without calling the hotel first. But I booked what I thought was a one bedroom suite with a separate living area for our daughter to sleep on the pullout sofa. (As we had brought her with us on the tail end of our honeymoon, you can see why this might be important.) However, what we got was one big room with the bedroom on one end, divided from the living room by the kitchenette/bathroom hallway which opened right into the living room/balcony area. There was no door, in fact no privacy at all, for the bedroom area. So booking the "one bedroom suite" was pointless when we could've paid less for a regular room with two double beds.

Other than that, it's a good hotel for families who want good beach access, as well as two swimming pools for kids to enjoy.
