When I made the reservation I asked specifically for an oceanfront room with a good view of the ocean. I was assured that my room had a great view. When I arrived I discovered that the view of the ocean was blocked by the roof of a covered stairway. When I asked for another room the manager became very abusive and insulting. The threatened my physically when I demanded my money back. I will never stay at a Day's Inn ever again and am writing a letter of complaint to the parent company. The manager should be fired.

We stayed in a second story two room suite at the Days Inn the first week of Jan. 2008. Yes this is an older motel & structurally you can see the age. But our suite was perfect for us: clean & large with a sink in the bathroom & also one in the kitchenette area. Both rooms were good sized & the balcony had a table with four chairs & a great view of the Atlantic Ocean. Sunrise was especially nice from the roomy balcony. Both the bedroom & living area had a television with basic cable & local stations from Jacksonville & Savanna.
We did not see overflowing trash as mentioned in a previous review.
The carpet & drapes in our room were new. We liked the landscaping & the easy beach access. We actually saw 3 deer across the road from the inn & enjoyed bike trails that ventured off the main road into the live oak forest. Days Inn is at the south end of development (for now) & if you walk south on the beach the sand dunes get larger & the crowds smaller. It probably has the widest, best beach on the island. This is not the Ritz, but a nice place with friendly Georgia hospitality & the quietest beach on the island.

Out side of the property was dirty, trash cans over flowing, old falling down storage building within sight of outside of the room.
It took 30 min. to check in because the maintance man had the key machine, No sink in the bathroom, old worn out carpet.

There weren't any recent reviews so I wanted to give an update. The hotel rooms are clean but somewhat dated. Our room had 2 double beds and the sink was in the main room. A shower/tub and toilet were in a separate room. The room smelled a littler musty but was Ok otherwise. Free continental breakfast is in 2nd floor room overlooking ocean which is a great view to watch the sun come up. The options were unexpectedly large: 2 waffle makers, boxed cereals, fresh fruit, bagels, juiceboxes of OJ and apple, milk in cartons, and of course teas and coffeer. The hostess keeps things well stocked and is very helpful.
Hotel is right on oceanfront and has great beach access. We checked in late so we had a 1st floor room with no view but 2nd floor rooms must have nice views of ocean. Price was reasonable ($70). Hotel was pretty full that night with many people just passing thru like us but we still got a couple of hours on the beautiful beach. Would recommend hotel since there are not many choices these days on the island.
