“Great wharf bar!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012

We have been here twice, on our honeymoon and with our child recently. It is the bar segment of Latitude 31, so the menu is very small. Go here for drinks and light snacking. It's on a wharf right over the water and there's usually a live band playing. They're open late and the service is great.

“Sweet, sweet shrimp!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012 via mobile

So the story goes that the shrimp feed off of the sweet sweet water, made sweet by the sugar cane that grows near by. Don't know if its true... But let me tell you that the shrimp are big, fresh and (yes) sweet! Oh there are a few bugs... But its outdoor dining. They come with the atmosphere. Chrissy the cute Georgia peach of a waitress is great. We're coming back tomorrow for lunch.

“Had a quaint reception here after a beach wedding!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

Went to a wedding, then the recpetion was here. The service was awesome and the food was outstanding. I had a peach pork loin and also tried their unique shrimp and grits. Both were delicious.

“Rah-Rah for Rah Bar, Boo-Hiss for Midgies”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2012

The Rah Bar (overly cute name) is situated at the end of the pier in the Jekyll Island Club Historic District. The open-air setting is very pretty and would be most enjoyable if it weren’t for the midgies (no-see-ums, biting gnats) that arrive for their own blood meal. Maybe some large fans would keep them more at bay?

The food is appropriate for barstools on a dock—all casual and served on paper plates. The steamed shrimp are fabulous and about as fresh as you could ask for. The oyster stew was very nice and the barbecue sandwich was surprisingly good.

If I could only enjoy such good food and pretty setting without brushing away the biting midgies! Without the bugs, this would have been 4 or 5 stars.
