“Relaxation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2011

A Secret hideaway with a fantastic homely atmosphere. On a 12 day road trip this was the most outstanding place we stayed at, so homely and relaxing. 5* Brekky too.

Its like staying with your family with 100 relaxation. 100% recommendation here.

An excellent B&B on the outskirts of the town. Nice quiet room, superb breakfast and very helpful and welcoming hosts (and a lovely dog we thought of kidnapping!) Strongly recommended

Fantastic stay, great breakfast! Nice B&B that's a gem and owned by friendly people. I would come again because this stay was just too good. Highly recommended. Hope it doesn't change with time.

This B&B is stunning, and great value too. There's just 3 rooms, all really nicely decorated, and a lovely pool. The fresh fruit and fry-up breakfast was delicious as well, and the hosts are really helpful. One I recommend to everyone heading to Port Stephens.

We stayed at Larkwood for 2 nights and were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The B&B is set in a quiet area of Port Stephens which was perfect if you don't want all the hustle and bustle. There is a great walk through the Koala habitat to the Lemon Tree Marina, which a great little pizza restaurant which Anne recommended (and even made the booking).

The B&B has a lounge area which is shared by the guests only, and a great pool with decking area outside. The breakfast had a good choice available and was very nice. The rooms are a good size, except the bathroom is quite small. Clean and well presented.

Nelsons Bay is a 20-25 min drive away, so keep this in mind if you want to be closer to the main tourist areas and beaches. You will definitely need a car for this area. The only issue we has was with the air conditioning switching itself (both nights) off in the middle of the night and not responding to the controls at all, and then coming back on in the morning. This made for a hot night given that it was around 40 degrees that day!

I would recommend this place for a quiet retreat with friendly service, and still close enough to the main tourist areas.

This is a delightful B&B on the river leading out to the ocean. It is in a Koala Habitat - with a trail down to the local village along the river. The hostess does a lovely job - it is spotless and very comfortable - except it does not have much privacy. The breakfast was outstanding - I would definitely stay here again. Anne was also helpful in getting us reservations and making suggestions on where to stay.

the local village had a great little place for lunch - don't remember the name, but on the corner across from the general store.
