I honestly don't know why ANY of the travel sites gives this hotel the time of day. It's horrible, the bed was lumpy, the carpet was dirty, mold in the bathroom and the front desk clerk is rude. The "free" Wi-Fi never connected and the continental breakfast was worse than what you'd pick up in a gas station. I'd rather sleep in a tent.

Room Tip: STEER CLEAR of this place, go somewhere else.....anywhere else.

My husband and I stayed the last night of Helen's Oktoberfest. We found our room to be only moderately clean - hair in tub and on bathroom floor, for example. The bed had just a sheet placed over the mattress with no mattress pad. When we came to our room shortly before midnight, we learned the walls and floors of this inn are paper thin. Unfortunately, we were privy to quite a 2-person party in a room either above or beside us that went on until the wee hours of the morning. I felt we wasted our money, as neither of us got much rest before facing a day-long drive as we continued on our trip. We will visit Helen again, but will never stay here again.

We went to Helen, GA to see the fall leaves. The hotel was very budget friendly. I didn't expect any frills for the price and so wasn't disappointed. No coffee maker, no soft fluffy towels. They had wi-fi but we weren't able to log onto the internet. Oh well..It took several minutes for the hot water to heat up. Overall, I have no complaints. The bed was not too hard, which was what I was expecting. The room was clean. The hotel offers a continental breakfast but not until 7:00AM and we got an earlier start, so didn't see what they had to offer.

Made my reservations based on a website rating. Viewed hotels website and the promises they made there included that a King bed room would have a microwave and a small fridge. Also free wi-fi. A None smoking room was requested. After an all day drive from Texas we arrived to be given a room that not only did NOT have fridge or microwave. The wi-fi did not have a signal strong enough to even sign on our laptops that we needed for real estate research to confirm our choices for purchase of land in the area.
Room had TWO towels and the water pressure was like using a trickle hose and the water took forever to get barely warm. The towel rack in the shower was broken. Then off to bed and the king size mattress was about 4 inches thick like a mobile home or RV mattress, And it was shot
There wasnt a table or chairs in the room.
Next morning was told we could switch rooms...so kind of them huh. New room had two full beds with again ..no fridge..no microwave..no table..no chairs and the a/c unit was leaking water on the floor. The room had a new bathroom counter that was laid on top of the old one..so that caused the bathroom sink faucet to run water on the counter not into the sink.Again..we got two towels and one desk chair. We were just two rooms away from the office and the wi-fi from the hotel across the road about a half mile away was stronger then this crudy place.
And the wonderful continental breakfast was the choice of an apple and a muffin both were probably brought by Sherman on his march thru the area.
And the room was not cleaned or towels and lines replaced that day. Came back to the room to find ants swarming around the trash can and in one of our suitcases.
It is very obvious that no money to fix things and poor owenership will cause this hotel to fail soon. Save yourself...bring a tent over this flop house hotel.

I paid $45. It was worth about that much. First off, some of the photos are obsolete. The continental breakfast looked nothing like the picture. It consisted of a tray of danishes, a tray of muffins, a bowl of apples and bananas, coffee, and orange juice. There was a toaster present but nothing to put in it. As for the room, it was certainly a room. Could have been worse. Seemed like there was space for a table but there was no table to be found. No fridge or microwave. No alarm clock or coffee maker either. I wasn't expecting a fridge, microwave, or coffee maker, but no alarm clock? Really? There were stains of water damage on the ceiling and the floor was hilly.

Everything else was fine. Lights worked. TV worked. Location was good. Water pressure was good. Hot water was good. Everything was relatively clean. It was all I needed in a room for one night.

Our 16 year old daughter booked a room for us for our Anniversary and said go and get out of town. She put a hold on the room with her debit card and was told When we arrive we would have to sign for the reservation, since she was only 16 and could not complete the transaction. Upon our arrival we checked out the room. Smelled like cheap perfume and the bed was as cheap as they come. We asked Lillian if we went to a different hotel if our daughters card would be charged? She told us No, we do not do that. Well, the next day $137.99 charged to my 16 year old daughters debit card. No signature, No Authorization! Now owner Sam say's too bad. The room was never cancelled and it's a free country. Call President Obama, then hung up. WOW!!! Do not stay at this Hotel. Do not give the owner a penny!

Room Tip: Helendorf Hotel was nice
