First was told room was on back of building, where we parked, unloaded our stuff in the pouring rain, walked up to the 2nd floor and found the room was not there. It was, in fact, on the front of the building. So we had to carry stuff back down, around the front back up the stairs (again in the rain). Key did not work on door; back to front desk. NO HOT WATER IN ROOM, shower would start warm then change to cold water almost immediately. Called front desk 3 times and said there were new valves that could be causing problem. No hot water that night, and none the next morning either, so apparently they still have not fixed. Unbearable to be in cold rain and then cold shower. POOR SERVICE. Have stayed in Helen GA on 3 occasions and this was poorest choice of hotels. Will not return, nor recommend to others.

Update: After sending comments to DAYS INN company, told feedback was sent to general manager of hotel. After 2 WEEKS, still have not heard back from hotel. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL - THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS.

Stay away. Please.
Hotel is FILTHY, dirty, and disgusting. Gunk and smears on walls, hairs in bathroom, sinks, and beds, carpet looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in years. Room smelled of dog pee, mold, and cheap air freshener. Dust and fingerprints on every surface. Sink faucets falling out of wall. "Breakfast" was prepackaged "Honey Buns" and coffee.Had it not been 2 am when we arrived, we would have left immediately.
I didn't know the health department allowed such places to exist.

This is the Worst Place to visit and stay at. We stayed there enough to see the room and PUKE! If you like hair and bugs in your bed and bathroom this would be for you. They charged me 200 for the room because there was nothing else available I asked for my money back that was probablly the best thing they did and the only thing they have done in I don't know when. We didn't even get deep into Helen didn't want to either. We went to the fuge shop and got the heck out of there and went to suwannee ga and stayed a comfort suites that was great! then we went to the mall of georgia the next day.

If you are picky about clean tiles in the bathroom or noisy A/C units. You might not like this place. But, If you need a place for you and the guys to crash when your campout gets rained out,
this is for you. Most guys are not picky, T.V., Beds, Toilet that flushes, were happy. We got a discount coupon from a Mcdonalds tourist book and saved alot. Compared to the rainy woods, this was heaven. Pizza parlor across the way was also great. The breakfast was a joke. By the time we got up, All the seniors have done hit the "Cont have none at all" Breakfast.
