One of your better state parks for camping. Getting around pretty easy, on one side of Hwy is the lodge and lower Smith creek that you need to go down and take a look. There is a trail to walk to Helen want to go back and do.The lower campground I was not impressed and really did not like its set up. Felt a few sites were way too small for 2 tents........ The other two areas looked better and I picked an upper area near a lit up trail to bathroom and showers for night. Nice play grounds in a few area. Lake was lacking too much lake brush in water, and just tiny blue gill. Nice drive to another area closer to cottages going to Falls. We saw an Trout habitat that you were allowed to fish in. no Luck..... too smart. Ruby Falls was an easy walk and pretty view. Best to Drive to Cleveland for food stores the one in HELEN ouch very high or go to the Dollar General they have a few isles of food and some cold items. Tube the Hooch but look for the pink Tubes for you will save a few dollars. We ate at West Family rest. a few miles out of Helen going towards Cleveland. Good buy all you can eat great prices for kids 12 n under. See the mill outside of Helen and the Winery. This was a better located campground with a lot to do. I have posted about a few other GA state parks if you need help with them. When you leave Cleveland head towards Dahlonega Ga. on GA 115/ 52 look for the tomato house. Good prices you beat many that are in Helen area on jams etc. great produce , a lot of things to buy as food gifts. Got a lot of great things for 20.00.
