Was pleasantly surprised, rooms are freshly remodeled and lovely. Very clean and a friendly and efficient staff. Swings by the rushing water and a nice breakfast bar. My only complaint was the steepness of the wheelchair ramp. It took 2 of us to push the chair up and was not sure we would make it. Will definitely stay there again. Walking distance to restaurants and lovely little shops.

Me and my husband stayed May 4th one night. We got one of the cabins, right on the river. Great location. Loved being steps away from the river. We plan on going back in the summer and bringing our family. Front desk was very nice and helpful.

We stayed at Riverbend Motel recently because of the WONDERFUL reviews. It was a great disappointment. We had a "smokefree" room but there were burn holes in our blankets. The room smelled terrible! Our beds smelled like body odor- especially the pillows! The bathroom was disgusting and even though the housekeeper came each day- nothing in the bathroom got cleaned. They definitely misrepresented their breakfast buffet. At the most we had Danish, coffee, and juice. The web site boasts all kinds of things for breakfast like cereal, yogurt, cheese sticks, bagels, muffins, oatmeal, grits, hot chocolate- we never saw any of these items!!! The positives were: location, price, manager (Mark) very friendly! I don't think I am that picky about where I stay but this place is absolutely disgusting- can't believe so many people rate it as excellent! These people must have really low expectations is all I can say. I think Mark should work elsewhere- he is good at what he does just needs to leave this fleabag place!!!!

Where to begin? OK, here goes! In late April we needed a special place to hand our hats for our Wedding Anniversary. Our days together had brought us to number 45. We had been coming to Helen, Georgia for many years, but had not actually been there in about 5 years. So, with that 5 years and our 45th it brought us up to a GOLDEN (50th) kind of anniversary. So, Helen was to be our special place to visit.
Now where to stay? Wanted some place close to the Chattahoocie River, somewhere not too expensive and lastly, a place close to a lot of FOOD. Started checking on places using the internet. And low and behold what should appear? RiverBend Motel and Cabins. There was the RIVER just outside what became our room; (we could actually hear the rumbling waters). All kinds of EATERIES within walking distance and we actually received a discount they said because we were SENIOR CITIZENS. But, i think it was because of our 45th wedding anniversary. Whatever, our cost for 3 days was less than $250.
Our room came with a King bed, very clean, hell it looked new. And a good sized room at that. We were impressed.
Now listen to this: there were a couple of items that I thought need attention. I brought them to the attention of the mananger, Mark, and before we returned after getting an afternoon snack, all was corrected and with a smile. Not bad, I'd say.
OK, now here's something else to check out. When I made the reservation, I indicated we were about to celebbrate our Wedding Anniversary and in our room was a bouquet of fresh flowers. Pretty nice, right?
Lastly, management and staff were super. Never saw any of them without a smile and a greeting. We shall not forget this special stay with them and plan to return as soon as like, when we can.
I really believe they are out to make anyone's stay with them, a memorable one.
Pleasant Travels,
The McCoy's

Room Tip: Just ask for a room by the river..

Just returned from Helen,Ga. Our stay was great. Riverbend is a wonderful motel where the staff is very friendly and was there to meet all our needs. Had a beautiful river view.and great trout fishing. The rooms were very nice and clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. We slept like babies. This will be the only place we stay when we return to Helen. Absolutely loved it. I would recommend the Riverbend to anyone looking for a great family atmosphere and peaceful and relaxing getaway.
